View free memory

To view the amount of free internal memory, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Start screen, swipe left.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Phone storage.
  4. From above the phone bar graph, tap phone.
  5. View the music + videos and pictures and free space data values.

Manage storage

To manage the internal storage space, follow these steps:

 

  1. Navigate to the desired file (for example, a picture in the Photos gallery.
    Note: If deleting a music file, you must swipe left or right to the Songs screen.
  2. Touch and hold on the file.
  3. Tap Delete.
  4. Tap yes to confirm.

 

 

View free storage space

To view the amount of free internal storage, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Start screen, swipe left.
  2. Scroll to and tap Settings.
  3. Tap Phone storage.
  4. View the SD card Bar graph and Used value.
  5. For more memory information, tap SD card.

Insert / remove SD card

To insert or remove the SD card, follow these steps:

 

  1. Power the phone off.
  2. At the top of the phone, put your thumbnail in the seam between the screen frame and the back cover. Press the middle of the back cover, and bend the cover to loosen the top hooks.

  3. Press and bend the bottom part of the back cover to loosen the side hooks, and remove the cover.

  4. Lift the battery out using the notch located at the bottom of the compartment.

  5. Insert the memory card.

  6. Replace the battery while ensuring the gold contacts are aligned.

Open or delete files using a computer

To open or delete files on the SD card using a computer, follow these steps:

 

  1. Connect the USB cable to your phone and then to your computer.
  2. Allow Windows Phone Drivers to install and file manager will automatically open up
  3. Navigate to the memory card and select the file you want to delete.
  4. Right-click the file and select Delete.

To open or delete files on the SD card using the device, follow these steps:

 

  1. Navigate to the desired file (for example, a picture in the Photos gallery)
  2. Touch and hold the file.

Set default memory storage

By default, the device stores data on the [SD card or internal storage]. To set the default memory storage to another location, follow these steps:


  1. From the Start screen, swipe left.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Phone storage.
  4. Tap the following options:
    • Store new music + videos on field
    • Store new pictures on field
      • Tap one of the following settings:
        • Phone
        • SD card

 

 

Transfer files between computer & SD card

To transfer files and pictures between the computer and SD card, follow these steps:


  1. Connect the phone to your computer using the USB cable.
  2. On the computer, use the application you have installed to navigate to and open the phone’s disk drive.
  3. Navigate to and move the desired file(s).
  4. When finished, safely disconnect the phone from the computer.
  5. If necessary, close the computer application.

 

 

Transfer files between internal storage & SD card

To copy files from the internal memory to a memory card, you will need to sync your device to a computer and then use the computer to copy these files. This feature is not available using the device itself.

 

 

View free SD card space

To view the amount of free SD card storage, follow these steps:


  1. From the Start screen, swipe left.
  2. Scroll to and tap Settings.
  3. Tap Phone storage.
  4. View the SD card Bar graph and Used value.
  5. For more memory information, tap SD card.
