    Bluetooth

    Pair Bluetooth device

    To turn on Bluetooth and pair with a headset or other device, follow these steps:

     

    1. From any Home screen, tap the Applications icon.
    2. Scroll to and tap Settings.
    3. Under 'WIRELESS & NETWORKS,' tap the Bluetooth switch to turn on.
    4. Tap Bluetooth.
    5. On the other device, turn Bluetooth on and make it discoverable.
    6. Under 'AVAILABLE,' select the other device for pairing.
      Note: Tap Search for devices if the other device does not appear.
    7. If prompted, enter the passkey and then tap Pair. Otherwise, tap Pair to confirm passkey.
    8. On the other device, accept the pairing. The other device will now be listed under 'PAIRED DEVICES.'

     

     

    Turn on/off Bluetooth

    To turn on or turn off Bluetooth, follow these steps:

     

    1. From any Home screen, touch the Notification bar and slide down.
    2. Tap the Bluetooth icon to turn on or turn off.
      Note: When Bluetooth is on, the icon will fill with color.

    Emergency Alerts

    Turn on/off Emergency Alerts

    To turn on or turn off Emergency Alert messages that push to the device, follow these steps:

     

    1. From any Home screen, tap the Applications icon.
    2. Scroll to and tap Civil alerts.
    3. Tap the Menu icon in the upper-right corner.
    4. Tap Settings.
    5. Select or clear check boxes for the following options:
      • Extreme alerts
      • Severe alerts
      • AMBER alerts

    Note: Presidential alerts cannot be disabled.

    GPS

    Turn on/off GPS

    To turn on or turn off GPS, follow these steps:

     

    1. From any Home screen, touch the Notification bar and slide down.
    2. Tap the Location icon to turn on or turn off.
      Note: When Location is on, the icon will fill with color.
    3. If necessary, review the additional information and then tap Agree.

    Network

    APN & data settings

    To set the Access Point Name (APN) and turn on data settings, follow these steps:

     

    1. From any Home screen, tap the Applications icon.
    2. Scroll to and tap Settings.
    3. Under 'WIRELESS & NETWORKS,' tap More.
    4. Scroll down to and tap Mobile networks.
    5. Ensure that Mobile data traffic is checked.
    6. Tap Access Point Names. By default, the device should be set to the T-Mobile Data APN.
    7. Tap the Menu icon in the lower-right corner.
    8. Tap New APN.
    9. Enter the access point information as necessary.
    10. Tap the Menu icon in the lower-right corner.
    11. Tap Save.
    12. Select the newly added APN from the list.

     

     

    Manual network selection

    To manually select a network, follow these steps:

     

    1. From any Home screen, tap the Applications icon.
    2. Scroll to and tap Settings.
    3. Under 'WIRELESS & NETWORKS,' tap More.
    4. Scroll down to and tap Mobile networks.
    5. Tap Service providers.
    6. Wait while the device searches for available networks.
    7. Tap Search Mode and select Manual.
    8. Tap on the desired network to connect.

     

     

    Switch 2G/4G/LTE

    To switch between 2G/4G/LTE, follow these steps:

     

    We're sorry, but this feature is not available for this device.

     

     

    Turn on/off Airplane mode

    Airplane mode turns off wireless connections. This allows you to use apps and menus, but not make calls or use the internet.

     

    To turn on or turn off airplane mode, follow these steps:

     

    1. From any Home screen, tap the Applications icon.
    2. Scroll to and tap Settings.
    3. Under 'WIRELESS & NETWORKS,' tap More.
    4. Select or clear the Airplane mode check box to turn on or turn off.

     

     

    Turn on/off data roaming

    To turn on or turn off data roaming, follow these steps:

     

    1. From any Home screen, tap the Applications icon.
    2. Scroll to and tap Settings.
    3. Under 'WIRELESS & NETWORKS,' tap More.
    4. Scroll down to and tap Mobile networks.
    5. Select or clear the Data roaming check box.
    6. If necessary, tap OK to confirm.

    NFC

    Read NFC tag

    To read the NFC tag information from another NFC device or a printed tag, follow these steps:

     

    1. On your device, turn on NFC.
    2. Place the back of your phone against the back of the other device, or against the printed tag. Your device should vibrate or sound a confirmation, depending on your settings.
    3. If necessary, follow any prompts (for example, if you are receiving a contact, you must select where to save the contact).

     

     

    Turn on/off NFC

    To turn on or turn off NFC, follow these steps:

     

    1. From any Home screen, tap the Applications icon.
    2. Scroll to and tap Settings.
    3. Under 'WIRELESS & NETWORKS,' tap More.
    4. Select or clear the NFC check box to turn on or turn off.

    System Manager (Carrier IQ)

    Opt in/out of System Manager

    System Manager makes it easier for T-Mobile to help with problems that happen when using your device. To opt in or opt out of System Manager, follow these steps:

     

    1. From the Home screen, tap the Applications icon.
    2. Scroll to and tap Settings.
    3. Scroll to 'PERSONAL,' and then tap Backup & reset.
    4. Tap Collect Diagnostics.
    5. Select or clear the Allow Diagnostics check box to opt in or opt out.

    Wi-Fi

    Delete Wi-Fi network profile

    To delete a saved Wi-Fi network profile, follow these steps:

     

    1. From any Home screen, tap the Applications icon.
    2. Scroll to and tap Settings.
    3. Under 'WIRELESS & NETWORKS,' tap Wi-Fi.
    4. If necessary, tap the Wi-Fi switch to turn on.
    5. Touch and hold the Wi-Fi network name.
    6. Tap Forget network.

     

     

    Scan & connect to Wi-Fi network

    To scan for and connect to available Wi-Fi networks, follow these steps:

     

    1. From any Home screen, tap the Applications icon.
    2. Scroll to and tap Settings.
    3. Under 'WIRELESS & NETWORKS,' tap Wi-Fi.
    4. Tap the Wi-Fi switch to turn on Wi-Fi. Switch moves right and fills with color.
    5. Select the network you want to connect to.
    6. If security is enabled, enter the password.
    7. Tap Connect.

     

     

    Turn on/off Wi-Fi

    To turn on or turn off Wi-Fi, follow these steps:

     

    1. From any Home screen, touch the Notification bar and slide down.
    2. Tap the Wi-Fi icon to turn on or turn off.
