Manage messages

Add SMS service center number

To add or change the SMS service center number, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap Messaging.
  2. Tap the Menu menu.jpg key.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Under Text message (SMS) settings, view the Message center number.
  5. Delete message

 

 

Delete picture messages (MMS)

To delete picture messages (MMS), follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap Messaging.
  2. Tap the thread containing the message you want to delete.
  3. Touch and hold the message you want to delete.
  4. Tap Delete message.
  5. Tap OK.

 

 

Delete text messages (SMS)

To delete text messages (SMS), follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap Messaging.
  2. Tap the desired message thread.
  3. Scroll to and touch and hold the message you want to delete.
  4. Tap Delete message.
  5. Tap OK.

 

 

Save pictures received in a message (MMS)

To save a picture you received as a picture message (MMS), follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, tap Messaging.
  2. Tap on desired message thread.
  3. Tap on the image.
  4. Press Menu.
  5. Tap Attached items.
  6. Tap on image name.
  7. Tap Save.

Send messages

Send a group text message (SMS)

To write and send text messages (SMS) to a group, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap Messaging.
  2. Tap the Compose (envelope and pen) icon in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.
  3. In the To field, enter the number or name of the contact.
    • Note: Repeat this step to add multiple contacts
  4. Tap the text message field and enter a message.
  5. Tap Send.

 

 

Send a new picture or video in a message (MMS)

To take a new picture or video and send it as a picture message (MMS), follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap Messaging.
  2. Tap the Compose icon.
  3. Enter the recipient’s phone number or name, or tap the Contacts icon to select a contact from one of the following:
    • Contacts
    • Recent
    • Group
    • Favorites
  4. Tap the Attach icon.
  5. Tap Capture video.
  6. Frame the subject.
  7. Tap the red Record icon to begin recording.
  8. Tap the red Record icon again to stop recording.
  9. Tap Save.
  10. Enter the text of your message.
  11. When done, tap Send

 

 

Send a saved picture or video in a message (MMS)

To send pictures or videos you have saved on your device as a picture message (MMS), follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap Messaging.
  2. Tap the Compose icon.
  3. Enter the recipient’s phone number or name, or tap the Contacts icon to select a contact from one of the following:
    • Contacts
    • Recent
    • Group
    • Favorites
  4. Tap the Attach icon.
  5. Tap Videos.
  6. Tap the video(s) you want to send.
  7. Enter the text of your message.
  8. When done, tap Send.
