SIM card

Insert / remove SIM card

To insert or remove the SIM card, follow these steps:

 

SIM card – Insert
  1. Hold the phone face up with the top panel facing you.
  2. Insert the tip of the SIM eject tool into the small hole next to the SIM card tray slot.
    Note: You may also use a small paperclip instead of the tool.

  3. Push the tip all of the way into the hole until the SIM card tray ejects.
  4. Pull the SIM card tray out and place the SIM card into the tray with contacts facing down.
    Caution: Use a standard MicroSIM only. Inserting other types may cause damage to the card slot.

  5. Insert the SIM card tray back into the slot.

  SIM card – Remove

  1. Hold the phone face up with the top panel facing you.
  2. Insert the tip of the SIM eject tool into the small hole next to the SIM card tray slot.

  3. Push the tip all of the way into the hole until the SIM card tray ejects.
  4. Pull the SIM card tray out and remove the SIM card.
  5. Insert the empty SIM card tray back into the slot.

Delete SIM messages

To delete SIM messages, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, tap the Messaging widget.
  2. Tap the Menu key.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Tap )Text messages (SMS).
  5. Tap Manage SIM card messages.
  6. Tap the Menu key.
  7. Tap Delete messages.

Mobile Device Unlock

Mobile Device Unlock

The Mobile Device Unlock code allows the device to use a SIM card from another wireless carrier. This may be necessary when traveling internationally. To enter the Mobile Device Unlock code, follow these steps:

 

Important: Stop if you receive an error message. The device may lock permanently if you enter the incorrect code multiple times.

 

  1. See if your phone is eligible to unlock: Mobile Wireless Device Unlocking.
  2. From any Home screen, tap the Phone icon.
  3. Verify the IMEI by entering *#06#.
  4. Contact Customer Care to request the Mobile Device Unlock code for your phone.
  5. Turn on the phone with the blocked SIM. The phone displays a screen to enter the unblock code.
  6. Enter the unblock code.
  7. Tap OK.
