Insert / remove SIM card

To insert or remove the SIM card, follow these steps:

 

  1. Power the phone off.
  2. Remove the back cover using the notch located at the bottom of the phone.

  3. Lift the battery out using the notch located at the bottom of the compartment.

  4. Follow the next three steps using the picture:
    • Slide the SIM card tray out of the compartment as shown (a)
    • Remove the SIM from the tray or insert the SIM card as shown (b)
    • Replace the SIM card tray as shown (c) with the straight edge of the SIM card inserted first.

  5. Replace the back cover by snapping it into place.

Mobile Device Unlock

Mobile Device Unlock

The Mobile Device Unlock code allows the device to use a SIM card from another wireless carrier. This may be necessary when traveling internationally. To enter the Mobile Device Unlock code, follow these steps:

 

Important: Stop if you receive an error message. The device may lock permanently if you enter the incorrect code multiple times.

 

  1. See if your phone is eligible to unlock: Mobile Wireless Device Unlocking.
  2. Contact Customer Care to request the Mobile Device Unlock code for your phone.
  3. From the Start screen, swipe left.
  4. Tap Settings.
  5. Scroll to and tap about.
  6. Tap more info.
  7. Record your IMEI number.
  8. Contact Customer Care to request your unlock code.
  9. Turn on the phone with the non-T-Mobile SIM card. The device displays "Please input unlock code."
  10. The phone displays a screen to enter the unblock code.
  11. Enter the unlock code. If successful, the device displays "Phone is unlocked."
