Block messages

Block messages or spam from a number

To block incoming text or picture messages (SMS or MMS) or mark them as spam, follow these steps:

 

Using a text or picture message from the spam number

  1. From any Home screen, tap Messaging.
  2. Touch and hold on the conversation thread from the number you want to block.
  3. Tap Register number as spam and then tap OK.

Using the Settings menu

  1. From any Home screen, tap Messaging.
  2. Tap the Menu key.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. If necessary, tap Spam settings to select the check box.
  5. Tap Register number as spam.
  6. Tap the + icon (plus sign).
  7. Manually enter the number or tap the Contacts icon to search your contacts list.
  8. When finished, tap Save.

 

 

Unblock messages from a number

To allow incoming text or picture messages (SMS or MMS) from a number you blocked, follow these steps:

 

Using a text or picture message from the blocked number

  1. From any Home screen, tap Messaging.
  2. Touch and hold on the conversation thread from the number you want to block.
  3. Tap Remove from spam numbers.

Using the Settings menu

  1. From any Home screen, tap Messaging.
  2. Tap the Menu key.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. If necessary, tap Spam settings to select the check box.
  5. Tap Register number as spam.
  6. Touch and hold on the desired number and then tap Delete.
  7. Tap OK.

Add SMS service center number

To add or change the SMS service center number, follow these steps:

 

Note: We're sorry, but you cannot change the service center number. Follow the below steps to view the current number.

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap Messaging.
  2. Tap the Menu key.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. View Message center.

 

 

Delete picture messages (MMS)

To delete picture messages (MMS), follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap Messaging.
  2. Choose one of the following options:

    • To delete the entire conversation thread
      1. Touch and hold on the conversation thread.
      2. Tap Delete thread and then tap OK.

    • To delete an individual picture message
      1. Tap the conversation thread containing the message you want to delete.
      2. Touch and hold the picture message you want to delete.
      3. Tap Delete message.
      4. Tap OK.

 

 

Delete text messages (SMS)

To delete text messages (SMS), follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap Messaging.
  2. Choose one of the following options:

    • To delete the entire conversation thread
      1. Touch and hold on the conversation thread.
      2. Tap Delete thread and then tap OK.

    • To delete an individual text message
      1. Tap the conversation thread containing the message you want to delete.
      2. Touch and hold the message you want to delete.
      3. Tap Delete message.
      4. Tap OK.

 

 

Save pictures received in a message (MMS)

To save a picture you received as a picture message (MMS), follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap Messaging.
  2. Tap the conversation thread containing the message you want to save.
  3. Touch and hold the picture you want to save.
  4. Tap Save attachment.
  5. Tap the file name to select the the check box.
  6. Tap Save.

    Note: The image will be stored in the following location: From any Home screen > Apps icon > My files > All files > sdcard0 > Download folder

Send messages

Send a group text message (SMS)

To write and send text messages (SMS) to a group, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap Messaging.
  2. Tap the Compose icon.
  3. Tap the Contacts contacts icon.jpg icon.
  4. If necessary, touch the tabs section and drag your finger to the right to reveal the Groups tab. Tap the Groups tab.
  5. Tap the group you want to send the message to.
  6. Tap Select all or else tap only the recipients you want the message to be delivered to.
  7. Tap Done.
  8. Tap the Enter message field and enter your message.
  9. When done, tap the Send email send icon.jpg icon.

 

 

Send a new picture or video in a message (MMS)

To take a new picture or video and send it as a picture message (MMS), follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
  2. Tap Camera.

    • To take a picture
      1. If necessary, touch the Switch camera camcorder slider.jpg and drag your finger to the right to select Camera mode.
      2. Frame the subject and then tap the Shutter shutter icon.jpg icon.

    • To capture a video
      1. If necessary, touch the Switch and drag your finger left towards the Camcorder camcorder icon.jpg icon.
      2. If necessary, tap the Settings icon (gear), tap Recording mode, and then tap Limit for MMS. If you do not turn on Limit for MMS, you may be limited to sending short videos due to large file size.
      3. Tap the red Record icon to begin recording.
      4. Tap the Stop icon to stop recording.

  3. Tap the image or video thumbnail located at the bottom-left corner of the screen.
  4. If necessary, tap the screen.
  5. Tap the Share share icon.jpg icon.
  6. Tap Messaging.
  7. Enter the recipient's phone number or else tap the Contacts icon. Tap to select the contact you want to send the message to. Tap Done.
  8. Tap the message field and enter the text of your message.
  9. When done, tap the Send email send icon.jpg icon.

 

 

Send a saved picture or video in a message (MMS)

To send pictures or videos you have saved on your device as a picture message (MMS), follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap Messaging.
  2. Tap the Compose icon.
  3. Enter the recipient's phone number or else tap the Contacts icon. Tap the desired contact and then tap Done.
  4. Tap the Enter message field and enter the text of your message.
  5. Tap the Attach icon (paper clip).
  6. Tap Images or Video.
  7. Tap one of the following options for accessing your picture or video (by default, your pictures and videos are stored in the Gallery):
    • Dropbox
    • Gallery
    • Samsung Link
  8. Tap either Always or Just once.
  9. Tap the folder of the image or video.
  10. Tap the image or video thumbnail
  11. When done, tap the Send email send icon.jpg icon.
