    Manage memory

    To manage the internal memory, follow these steps:

     

    Restart the device regularly

    Note: You should restart the phone at least once a day.

    1. Press and hold the Power key.
    2. Tap Restart.

     

    Reduce memory use

    • Prevent the memory from being filled as quickly:
      • If the device is slow, remove the widgets from Home screens (especially ones that update with information or have animation).
      • If you are using a live wallpaper and the device is slow, turn off the live wallpaper.
      • Remove all unused Home screens
        1. Pinch the Home screen.
        2. On the grid of Home screens, touch and hold the unused screen.
        3. Slide screen over Remove and release your finger.

     

     

    Task manager

    A task manager can view running apps and close them. To use the task manager, follow these steps:

     

    1. From any Home screen, tap the Applications icon.
    2. Scroll to and tap Task Manager.
    3. Scroll to and select the application you want to close.
    4. Tap Disable.
    5. Tap OK.

     

     

    View free memory

    To view the amount of free internal memory, follow these steps:

     

    1. Touch the Notification bar and slide down.
    2. Tap the Settings icon.
    3. Scroll to 'Phone,' and tap Apps.
    4. Tap the Running tab.
    5. View the RAM usage bar at the top of the screen.
      Note: Above the bar, XXX MB / XXX MB will display.

    Internal storage (ROM)

    Manage storage

    To manage the internal storage space, follow these steps:

     

    Clear storage regularly

    • Clear the storage at least once a week.
    • Delete unnecessary text messages (SMS) and picture messages (MMS).
    • Transfer pictures and media to a computer, and remove from the phone memory.
    • Clear the browser cache, cookies, or history.
    • Clear Facebook app cache.
    • Delete the call logs.

     

    Set the device to manage some memory

    • Set the text message limit to delete messages automatically.
      Note: The default is 200 text and 20 picture messages. You may use this setting to start with, and decrease it if you continue to have problems.
    • Change the setting for email synchronization to download only for the past three days.

     

    Manage applications

    • Keep managing any applications that you install to keep the system running properly
      • If you notice the device having some problems and you installed apps in the past few days, then uninstall all the new apps. Most device problems are actually caused by app errors.
    • View other applications that are using storage or memory
      • When in Task Manager, tap Sort, and then tap Memory.
      • For apps that take up a lot of space, clear the application cache and data.
      • For apps that continue to use a lot of your storage space, uninstall them by tapping the app name, then Uninstall.

     

     

    View free storage space

    To view the amount of free internal storage, follow these steps:

     

    1. From any Home screen, tap the Applications icon.
    2. Scroll to and tap Task Manager.
    3. View the usage bar at the top of the screen.
      Note: Above the bar, XXX MB / 1.0 GB will display.

    Open or delete files using a computer

    To open or delete files on the internal memory using a computer, follow these steps:

     

    1. Connect the device to a computer using the USB cable.
    2. On the computer when the AutoPlay window appears, click Open device to view files using Windows Explorer.
      Note: If the AutoPlay window does not appear automatically, check that the USB cable is completely plugged in, or try another USB port.
    3. In the Windows Explorer window that opens, double-click the Internal storage folder.
    4. Navigate to the desired files.
    5. Perform one of the following actions:
      • Open a file
        • Double click the file icon to open.
      • Delete a file
        1. Right click the file.
        2. Select Delete.
        3. Select Yes to confirm.
    6. When finished, click the Safely Remove Hardware icon in the system tray.
    7. Click Eject.
    8. Disconnect the device from the computer.
