Music player

Play music or MP3

To play music or MP3s in the music player, follow these steps:

 

Music application

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
  2. Tap Music.
  3. Tap one of the following tabs:
    • Songs
    • Playlists
    • Albums
    • Artists
    • Folders
  4. Navigate to and tap the desired song.

 

Play Music application

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
  2. Tap Play Music.
  3. Tap Menu icon (top left) and choose from the following:
    • Listen Now
    • My Library
    • Playlists
    • Radio
    • Explore
    • Settings
    • Help
    • Send Feedback

 

 

Turn on / off FM radio

Transfer

Transfer music from computer to device

To transfer music files between a computer and the device, follow these steps:

 

Note: To see a list of file formats that the device can play, see Tech specs.

 

PC

  1. Connect USB cable to the phone, then to a computer.
    Note: If necessary, touch the Status bar and drag it down, tap Connected as a media device and then tap Media device to select the check box.
  2. On the computer, click the Open device to view files using Windows Explorer folder or else navigate to and open the phone’s disk drive and navigate to the desired folder.
  3. Navigate to the desired music file(s) on your computer.
  4. Drag and drop the files into your phone's disk drive.
  5. When finished, safely disconnect the phone from the computer.

 

Mac

  1. If necessary, navigate to samsung.com/kies, click DOWNLOAD FOR MAC OS and follow the prompts to download the Kies software.
  2. Connect USB cable to the phone, then to a computer.
    Note: If necessary, touch the Status bar and drag it down, tap Connected as a media device and then tap Media device to select the check box.
  3. On your computer, open Kies.
  4. Inside Kies, choose one of the following options:
    Note: You can also click Music located under your device's name.
    • To the right of 'Internal memory,' click the Folder icon. Navigate to where you want to add the music file.
    • To the right of 'External memory,' click the Folder icon. Navigate to where you want to add the music file.
  5. On your computer, open the desired music files. Drag and drop the music files into Kies.
  6. When finished, safely disconnect the phone from the computer.
