    Notifications

    To change the notification sounds, follow these steps:

     

    1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
    2. Tap Settings.
    3. Tap the My device tab.
    4. Tap Sound.
    5. Tap Notifications.
    6. Tap the desired notification sound and then tap OK.

     

     

    Ringtones

    To change the ringtone, follow these steps:

     

    Ringtone for all calls

    1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
    2. Tap Settings.
    3. Tap the My device tab.
    4. Tap Sound.
    5. Tap Ringtones.
    6. Tap the desired Ringtone and then tap OK.

     

    Ringtone for calls from one contact

    Note: You cannot assign a ringtone to contacts stored on the SIM card or Phone (device memory).

    1. From any Home screen, tap Contacts.
    2. Tap the desired contact.
    3. Tap the Edit icon (pencil).
    4. Tap Ringtone.
    5. Tap the desired ringtone to assign it to the contact and then tap OK.
    6. Tap Save.

    Transfer

    Transfer music or sounds to use

    Some devices require you to transfer music, sounds, or other audio files to the device in a certain way for it to be used for ringtones and notifications. To transfer these files, follow these steps:

     

    Supported file formats

    • MP3
    • AAC
    • AAC+
    • eAAC+
    • WMA
    • MPEG4
    • WAV
    • MIDI

     

    Transfer - PC

    1. Connect USB cable to the phone, then to a computer.
      Note: If necessary, touch that Status bar and drag it down, tap Connected as a media device and then tap Media device (MTP).
    2. On your computer, click Open device to view files using Windows Explorer or else navigate to and open the phone’s disk drive and navigate to the desired folder.
    3. Navigate to the desired music file(s) stored on your computer.
    4. Drag and drop the music files into your phone's disk drive.
      Note: To add a notification, drop directly into the Notification folder. Or, see below: 'Notification list - add the music or sound file.'
    5. When finished, safely disconnect the phone from the computer.

     

    Transfer - Mac

    1. If necessary, navigate to samsung.com/kies, click DOWNLOAD FOR MAC OS and follow the prompts to download the Kies software.
    2. Connect USB cable to the phone, then to a computer.
      Note: If necessary, touch the Status bar and drag it down, tap Connected as a media device and then tap Media device to select the check box.
    3. On your computer, open Kies.
    4. Inside Kies, choose one of the following options:
      Note: You can also click Music located under your device's name.
      • To the right of 'Internal memory,' click the Folder icon. Navigate to where you want to add the music our sound file.
      • To the right of 'External memory,' click the Folder icon. Navigate to where you want to add the music or sound file.
    5. On your computer, navigate to the desired music or sound file. Drag and drop the music files into Kies.
    6. When finished, safely disconnect the phone from the computer.

     

    Ringtone list - add the music or sound file
    Note: Using your device, you can add the new music or sound file to your ringtone list.

    1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
    2. Tap Settings.
    3. Tap the My device tab.
    4. Tap Sound.
    5. Tap Ringtones.
    6. Tap Add.
    7. Tap either Choose music track or Sound picker.
      Note: You can also tap Dropbox. However, you must log in to your account first.
    8. Tap Just once or Always.
    9. Tap the desired music or sound file and then tap OK.

     

    Notification list - add the music or sound file
    Note: Using your device, you can add the new music or sound file to your notification list.

    1. From any Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
    2. Tap My files.
    3. Tap All files.
    4. Navigate to the desired music or sound file that you transfered.
    5. Touch and hold on the file and then tap Copy.
    6. Tap Device storage.
    7. Tap the Notifications folder.
    8. Tap Paste here.
