Access the Mobile Hotspot Admin Page

To access your T-Mobile Hotspot Admin page, follow these steps:

 

  1. Connect your computer to your Mobile Hotspot via Wi-Fi.
  2. On your computer, double-click the T-Mobile Hotspot Admin icon admin.PNG on your desktop or open a browser window and enter http://mobile.hotspot/.

  3. In the Password field, enter your password.
    Note: The default password is “admin”.
  4. Click Login.

Change the Mobile Hotspot SSID

To change the SSID follow these steps:

  1. Connect your computer to your Mobile Hotspot via Wi-Fi.
  2. On your computer, double-click the T-Mobile Hotspot Admin icon on your desktop or open a browser window and enter http://mobile.hotspot/.
  3. Enter your administrator password and click Login.
    Note: The default administrator password is “admin”.
  4. Click Home.
  5. Click Change SSID and Password.
  6. In the Current Network Name (SSID) field, enter a new SSID.
  7. Click Apply.
  8. Click Apply again.
  9. Click OK.

Change the Wi-Fi password

The Wi-Fi password is the password used to connect other devices to your Mobile Hotspot. Changing the Wi-Fi password does not change the password you use to access your T-Mobile Hotspot Admin page, which is your administrator password.

 

To change the Wi-Fi password, follow these steps:

 

  1. Connect your computer to your Mobile Hotspot via Wi-Fi.
  2. On your computer, double-click the T-Mobile Hotspot Admin icon on your desktop or open a browser window and enter http://mobile.hotspot/.
  3. Enter your administrator password and click Login.
  4. Note: The default administrator password is “admin”.
  5. Click Home.
  6. Click Change SSID and Password.

  7. In the Password field, enter a new Wi-Fi password.
  8. Click Apply.
  9. Click Apply again.
  10. Click OK.

 

Record your new SSID, Wi-Fi logon, and administrator passwords, and keep them in a safe place. You will need this information to connect other devices to your Mobile Hotspot’s network and to access your T-Mobile Hotspot Admin page.

Mobile Hotspot Settings

Note: It is recommended that you accept default settings and do not change them unless you are an advanced user. If you have problems using your Mobile Hotspot after you change a setting, it is recommended that you reset the device to factory default settings.

 

View summary of Mobile Hotspot settings

Before you change Mobile Hotspot settings, you can view a summary of the most important settings on one screen, to help you decide which settings you want to change.

 

To view basic Mobile Hotspot settings, follow these steps:

 

  1. Connect your computer to your Mobile Hotspot via Wi-Fi.
  2. On your computer, double-click the T-Mobile Hotspot Admin icon on your desktop or open a browser window and enter http://mobile.hotspot/.
  3. Enter your administrator password and click Login.         
    • Note: The default administrator password is admin.
  4. Click Home.

Change SSID and Wi-Fi password

To change the SSID and Wi-Fi password, follow these steps:

  1. Connect your computer to your Mobile Hotspot via Wi-Fi.
  2. On your computer, double-click the T-Mobile Hotspot Admin icon on your desktop or open a browser window and enter http://mobile.hotspot/.
  3. Enter your administrator password and click Login.                         
    • Note: The default administrator password is “admin”.
  4. Click Home.
  5. Click Change SSID and Password.

  6. In the Current Network Name (SSID) field, enter a new SSID.
  7. In the Password field, enter a new Wi-Fi password.
  8. Click Apply.
  9. Click Apply again.
  10. Click OK.

Change broadband settings

View wireless information

To view wireless information, follow these steps:

  1. Connect your computer to your Mobile Hotspot via Wi-Fi.
  2. On your computer, double-click the T-Mobile Hotspot Admin icon on your desktop or open a browser window and enter http://mobile.hotspot/.
  3. Enter your administrator password and click Login.                         
    • Note: The default administrator password is “admin”.
  4. Click Settings.
  5. Click Broadband Settings.
  6. Click Wireless Info.

  7. Click Refresh to update the wireless information.

View network detection settings

To view the selection mode that Mobile Hotspot uses to search for available networks, follow these steps:

  1. Connect your computer to your Mobile Hotspot via Wi-Fi.
  2. On your computer, double-click the T-Mobile Hotspot Admin icon on your desktop or open a browser window and enter http://mobile.hotspot/.
  3. Enter your administrator password and click Login.
  4. Note: The default administrator password is “admin”.
  5. Click Settings.
  6. Click Broadband Settings.
  7. Click Network Select.

Add additional access point names

To change how the Mobile Hotspot searches for available networks, follow these steps:

  1. Connect your computer to your Mobile Hotspot via Wi-Fi.
  2. On your computer, double-click the T-Mobile Hotspot Admin icon on your desktop or open a browser window and enter http://mobile.hotspot/.
  3. Enter your administrator password and click Login.       
    • Note: The default administrator password is admin.
  4. Click Settings.
  5. Click Broadband Settings.
  6. Click APN Settings.

    Note: You cannot change T-Mobile APN settings.
  7. Click Add to create a new profile.

    Note: It is recommended that you accept default settings and do not change them unless you are an advanced user.     Select one profile from the list.

    Profile Name

    Enter the profile name.

    Enter the APN string.

    DNS

    Select a DNS mode.

    Authentication

    PAP - Password Authentication Protocol (PAP) provides a simple method, without encryption,  for the peer to establish its identity by using a two-way handshake.

     

    CHAP - Challenge-Handshake Authentication Protocol is used to periodically verify the identity of the  peer by using a three-way handshake.

    User Name

    The user name is used to  obtain authentication from the ISP when the connection is established.

    Password

    The password is used to obtain authentication from the ISP  when the connection is established.

 

  • Click Save.

Change Wi-Fi settings

Under Wi-Fi Settings, you can view a list of wireless network devices and their MAC addresses, and you can change basic wireless network, security, and WPS settings.

View a list of wireless network devices

To view a list of wireless network devices, follow these steps:

 

  1. Connect your computer to your Mobile Hotspot via Wi-Fi.
  2. On your computer, double-click the T-Mobile Hotspot Admin icon on your desktop or open a browser window and enter http://mobile.hotspot/.
  3. Enter your administrator password and click Login.     
    • Note: The default administrator password is admin.
  4. Click Settings.
  5. Click Wi-Fi Settings.
  6. Click Device List.

Change basic wireless network settings

To change basic wireless network settings, follow these steps:

    1. Connect your computer to your Mobile Hotspot via Wi-Fi.
    2. On your computer, double-click the T-Mobile Hotspot Admin icon on your desktop or open a browser window and enter http://mobile.hotspot/.
    3. Enter your administrator password and click Login.
    4. Note: The default administrator password is “admin”.
    5. Click Settings.
    6. Click Wi-Fi Settings.
    7. Click Basic.

Option

Description

Network Mode

If all of the wireless devices connect with the Mobile Hotspot in the same transmission mode, performance will be improved by choosing the appropriate wireless mode.

Network Name (SSID)

Service Set  Identifier (SSID). Enter a string with fewer than 32 characters as the name  for your wireless local area network (WLAN).

Broadcast Network Name

Disable or Enable (Default) this function.

Enable - The device broadcasts the SSID, and  other devices can search and connect to it.

Disable - Other devices cannot detect the SSID. Connection  will require manual setup using the SSID and password.

Country

Select the  country where you currently reside.

Frequency Channel

Choose the  appropriate channel to optimize the performance and coverage of your wireless  network.

Rate

Choose the speed  rate.

MAX Station Number

Choose the  maximum number of the stations that connect the AP simultaneously, up to a  maximum of five.


  1. Click Apply.

Change security settings

To change security settings, follow these steps:

    1. Connect your computer to your Mobile Hotspot via Wi-Fi.
    2. On your computer, double-click the T-Mobile Hotspot Admin icon on your desktop or open a browser window and enter http://mobile.hotspot/.
    3. Enter your administrator password and click Login.                         
      • Note: The default administrator password is “admin”.
    4. Click Settings.
    5. Click Wi-Fi Settings.
    6. Click Security.

      • Note: Choose a security option that will be compatible with all of the devices that will connect to the Mobile Hotspot. The default security mode is WPA-PSK, which is the most common security mode for newer devices.
    7. Use the following table to help you select a Security Mode option:
Option

Description

OPEN

You can  authenticate successfully with an SSID, whether you enter a valid password or  leave the password field blank.

SHARED

The WLAN clients  who have the same WEP key with a wireless gateway can pass the authentication  and access the wireless network.

WPA-PSK

WPA Pre-Shared  Key. Enter the Pre-Shared key as a plain text pass-phrase.

WPA2-PSK

This is the more secure  version of WPA, which includes implementation of the 802.11i standard.

WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK

Apply both the WPA-PSK and WPA2-PSK security protocols.


    1. If you select OPEN or SHARED, you see the following Wired Equivalence Protection (WEP) table:

  1. You can specify up to four WEP keys.
  2. If you select any of the three WPA security options, select a WPA algorithm and a pass phrase.
  3. Click Apply.
    • Note: After you click Apply, you will need to reconnect any Wi-Fi devices.

Change WPS settings

To change WPS settings, follow these steps:

  1. Connect your computer to your Mobile Hotspot via Wi-Fi.
  2. On your computer, double-click the T-Mobile Hotspot Admin icon on your desktop or open a browser window and enter http://mobile.hotspot/.
  3. Enter your administrator password and click Login.
  4. Note: The default administrator password is “admin”.
  5. Click Settings.
  6. Click Wi-Fi Settings.
  7. Click WPS.

  8. At WPS Mode, select one of the following options:
    • AP PIN
      • Enter the AP PIN.
    • Client PIN
      • Enter the client PIN.
    • PBC
      1. On the client WPS screen, select the PBC mode.
      2. On the Mobile Hotspot’s Wi-Fi Settings > WPS page online, at WPS Mode, select PBC.
      3. After the WPS is enabled, press the "Next" button (or its equivalent) on the client WPS screen. After a few seconds, the client can access the WLAN, and the result will be shown on the client WPS screen.
  9. Click Apply.

Change firewall settings

You can set up firewall rules to protect your network from virus, worm, and malicious activity on the Internet. image048.jpg

Change MAC, IP, and port filtering settings

To change MAC, IP, and port filtering settings, follow these steps:

    1. Connect your computer to your Mobile Hotspot via Wi-Fi.
    2. On your computer, double-click the T-Mobile Hotspot Admin icon on your desktop or open a browser window and enter http://mobile.hotspot/.
    3. Enter your administrator password and click Login.
    4. Note: The default administrator password is “admin”.
    5. Click Settings.
    6. Click Firewall.
    7. Click MAC/IP/Port Filtering.

    9. Use the following table to help you select MAC, IP, and port filtering options:

MAC addressSet the MAC address that will be filtered.
Dest. IP  Address Set the destination IP address that will be filtered.
Source IP AddressSet the source IP address that will be filtered.
WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK Apply both the  WPA-PSK and WPA2-PSK security  protocols.
ProtocolSet which  protocol will be used for filtering.
Dest. Port RangeSet the  destination port numbers that will be filtered
Source Port RangeSet the source port numbers that will be  filtered.
ActionSet how to handle  the packet if it matches the rule.
CommentType comment for  the filter settings.

  1. Click Apply to confirm your configuration.
  2. Click Delete to delete the rule which you selected.
  3. Click Reset to clear what you select or input.

To add a new rule, follow these steps:

  1. Select Enable in the Basic Settings section.
  2. Click Apply.
  3. Enter your settings in the Mac/IP/Port Filtering Settings section.
  4. Click Apply in the Mac/IP/Port Filtering Settings section.

Change port forwarding settings

To change port forwarding settings, follow these steps:

  1. Connect your computer to your Mobile Hotspot via Wi-Fi.
  2. On your computer, double-click the T-Mobile Hotspot Admin icon on your desktop or open a browser window and enter http://mobile.hotspot/.
  3. Enter your administrator password and click Login.                         
    • Note: The default administrator password is “admin”.
  4. Click Settings.
  5. Click Firewall.
  6. Click Port Forwarding.

  7. Select Enable to change the Virtual Server Settings.

  8. In the IP Address field, enter the IP address of the virtual server.
  9. In the Port Range field, enter the port numbers of the virtual server.
  10. In the Protocol field, select a protocol for the virtual server.
  11. In the Comment field, type a comment about the virtual server settings.
  12. Click Apply to add a new rule.
  13. Click Delete to delete the rule that you selected.
  14. Click Reset to clear the settings.

Change system security settings

You can configure the system firewall to protect the Mobile Hotspot from attack by viruses, worms, and other malicious software. To change system security settings, follow these steps:

  1. Connect your computer to your Mobile Hotspot via Wi-Fi.
  2. On your computer, double-click the T-Mobile Hotspot Admin icon on your desktop or open a browser window and enter http://mobile.hotspot/.
  3. Enter your administrator password and click Login.     
    • Note: The default administrator password is “admin”.
  4. Click Settings.
  5. Click Firewall.
  6. Click System Security.

  7. At Remote management (via WAN), click Enable or Disable to activate or stop the remote management function.
  8. At Ping from WAN filter, click Enable or Disable to activate or stop this function.
  9. Click Apply.
  10. Click Reset to restore the default values.

To view the software and hardware versions, follow these steps:

  1. Connect your computer to your Mobile Hotspot via Wi-Fi.
  2. On your computer, double-click the T-Mobile Hotspot Admin icon on your desktop or open a browser window and enter http://mobile.hotspot/.
  3. Enter your administrator password and click Login.
  4. Note: The default administrator password is “admin”.
  5. Click Settings.
  6. Click Advanced.
  7. Click Status.

  8. View the Software version and Hardware version fields.

 

Change your administrator password

Your administrator password is the password you use to access your T-Mobile Hotspot Admin page. To change your administrator password, follow these steps:

  1. Connect your computer to your Mobile Hotspot via Wi-Fi.
  2. On your computer, double-click the T-Mobile Hotspot Admin icon on your desktop or open a browser window and enter http://mobile.hotspot/.
  3. Enter your administrator password and click Login.
  4. Note: The default administrator password is “admin”.
  5. Click Settings.
  6. Click Advanced.
  7. Click Management.

  8. In the Current Password field, enter your current password.
  9. In the New Password field, enter your new password.
  10. In the Verify Password field, enter the new password to confirm.
  11. Click Apply.
    • Note: If you forget your administrator password, restore the device to factory default settings and then log in by using the default password “admin”. Change the default password to a more secure one after you log in.

 

Restore settings (Perform factory reset)

To restore settings, follow these steps:

 

  1. Connect your computer to your Mobile Hotspot via Wi-Fi.
  2. On your computer, double-click the T-Mobile Hotspot Admin icon on your desktop or open a browser window and enter http://mobile.hotspot/.
  3. Enter your administrator password and click Login.   
    • Note: The default administrator password is admin.
  4. Click Settings.
  5. Click Advanced.
  6. Click Restore.

  7. The Mobile Hotspot will restart automatically.

 

Create a SIM PIN code

A SIM PIN code provides a secondary level of security for the Mobile Hotspot, and helps to prevent unauthorized use of your subscription.

 

To create a SIM PIN code, follow these steps:

 

  1. Connect your computer to your Mobile Hotspot via Wi-Fi.
  2. On your computer, double-click the T-Mobile Hotspot Admin icon on your desktop or open a browser window and enter http://mobile.hotspot/.
  3. Enter your administrator password and click Login.
  4. Note: The default administrator password is “admin”.
  5. Click Settings.
  6. Click Advanced.
  7. Click SIM PIN Manage.
  8. At Action, click the down arrow and then click one of the following options:                         
    • Enable (the SIM PIN is required)
    • Disable (the SIM PIN is not required)
  9. In the SIM PIN field, enter the SIM PIN code.
  10. Click Apply.
  11. Under SIM PIN Save Management, click to select the SIM PIN Save check box to make it unnecessary to enter the SIM PIN code each time you turn on the Mobile Hotspot.
  12. Click Apply.

 

Change the SIM PIN code

To change the SIM PIN code, follow these steps:

  1. Connect your computer to your Mobile Hotspot via Wi-Fi.
  2. On your computer, double-click the T-Mobile Hotspot Admin icon on your desktop or open a browser window and enter http://mobile.hotspot/.
  3. Enter your administrator password and click Login.                         
    • Note: The default administrator password is “admin”.
  4. Click Settings.
  5. Click Advanced.
  6. Click SIM PIN Manage.

  7. At Action, click the down arrow and then click Modify.

  8. In the SIM PIN field, enter the current PIN code.
  9. In the New SIM PIN field, enter the new PIN code.
  10. In the Confirm New SIM PIN field, enter the new PIN code again, to confirm.
  11. Under SIM PIN Save Management, click to select the SIM PIN Save check box to make it unnecessary to enter the PIN code each time you turn on the Mobile Hotspot.
  12. Click Apply.

 

View the status of your local area network (LAN)

To change advanced Mobile Hotspot settings, follow these steps:

  1. Connect your computer to your Mobile Hotspot via Wi-Fi.
  2. On your computer, double-click the T-Mobile Hotspot Admin icon on your desktop or open a browser window and enter http://mobile.hotspot/.
  3. Enter your administrator password and click Login.                         
    • Note: The default administrator password is admin.
  4. Click Settings.
  5. Click Advanced.
  6. Click Router.

Change the connection mode

To change whether you connect to the Internet manually or automatically, follow these steps:

  1. Connect your computer to your Mobile Hotspot via Wi-Fi.
  2. On your computer, double-click the T-Mobile Hotspot Admin icon on your desktop or open a browser window and enter http://mobile.hotspot/.
  3. Enter your administrator password and click Login.   
    • Note: The default administrator password is admin.
  4. Click Connection.

  5. Click one of the following options:                         
    • Auto Connect
    • Manual Connect
      • Note: If you select Manual Connect, then you will also have to disconnect from the Internet manually.
  6. Click Apply.

Unblock PIN (PUK code)

 

  1. Contact Customer Care to request your PUK code.
  2. Connect your computer to your Mobile Hotspot via Wi-Fi.
  3. On your computer, double-click the T-Mobile Hotspot Admin icon on your desktop or open a browser window and enter http://mobile.hotspot/.
  4. Enter your administrator password and click Login.
    • Note: The default administrator password is “admin”.
  5. From the Dashboard screen, click Unlock SIM.
  6. Click Enter PUK.
  7. Enter your PUK code in the PUK Code field.
  8. Enter your new SIM PIN code that you create two times into the New PIN and Verify PIN fields.
  9. Click Unlock.

View Mobile Hotspot mobile number

To locate your Mobile Hotspot phone number, follow these steps:

  1. Connect your computer to your Mobile Hotspot via Wi-Fi.
  2. On your computer, double-click the T-Mobile Hotspot Admin icon on your desktop or open a browser window and enter http://mobile.hotspot/.
  3. Enter your administrator password and click Login.     
    • Note: The default administrator password is admin.
  4. Click Home, if necessary. The phone number is listed in the Phone field on the lower right of the page.

 

Note: Your Mobile Hotspot phone number is also located at the top of your T-Mobile Hotspot Admin page.
