Answer call

How to answer or receive a call

 

To answer an incoming call, press the green Send key.

 

Dial

How to make or dial an outgoing call

 

To make a call, follow these steps:

 

Using the keypad

 

  1. From the Home screen, enter the phone number
  2. Press the green Send key to call.

 

Using the phone book

 

  1. From the Home screen, select Start.
  2. Scroll to and select Contacts.
  3. Scroll to and select the desired contact.
  4. Press the green Send key to call.

 

Using speed dial

From the Home screen, press and hold the number key assigned to the desired contact.

 

End call

 

How to end, hang up, or disconnect a call

 

To end a call, press the red End key.

How to put a call on hold and return to it

To put a call on hold and return to it, follow these steps:

 

To hold

 

  1. While on a call, select Menu.
  2. Scroll to and select Hold.

Caller ID

Incoming caller ID

 

How incoming caller ID works and how to turn it on

 

Incoming caller ID shows information about incoming calls on the display screen. It automatically shows the caller's name and phone number if it is in the phone book. When the information is not in the phone book, it only displays the caller's number.

 

Outgoing - enable

 

How to turn on or enable outgoing caller ID

 

To enable outgoing caller ID so people you call can see your number, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, select Start.
  2. Scroll to and select Settings.
  3. Select Phone.
  4. Scroll to and select More.
  5. Scroll to and select Caller ID.
  6. Select Provide my caller ID to.
  7. Scroll to and select Everyone.
  8. Select Done.

 

Outgoing - restrict

 

How to restrict, turn off, or disable outgoing caller ID

 

To restrict outgoing caller ID so people you call cannot see your number, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, select Start.
  2. Scroll to and select Settings.
  3. Select Phone.
  4. Scroll to and select More.
  5. Scroll to and select Caller ID.
  6. Select Provide my caller ID to.
  7. Scroll to and select No one.
  8. Select Done.

 

Picture ID

 

How to add or set up picture caller ID for specific callers on incoming calls

 

You can assign picture ID to contacts stored in the phone book, but not to those stored on the SIM card. To assign a picture to a contact, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, select Contacts.
  2. Scroll to and select the desired contacts.
  3. Select Menu.
  4. Select Edit.
  5. Scroll to and select Picture.
  6. Scroll to and select the desired picture.
  7. Select Done.

 

Ringer ID

 

How to add or set up ringer caller ID for specific callers on incoming calls

 

You can assign ringer ID to contacts stored in the phone book, but not to those stored on the SIM card. To assign a ringer to a contact, follow these steps:

How to turn on call forwarding to voicemail

 

Voicemail forwarding forwards incoming calls to your voicemail so that callers can leave a message. To activate voicemail forwarding, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, select Start.
  2. Scroll to and select Settings.
  3. Select Phone.
  4. Scroll to and select Call Forwarding.
  5. Scroll to and select from the following:
    • No Reply
    • Busy
    • Unavailable
  6. Scroll to and select Forward voice calls to.
  7. Scroll to and select Voicemail.
  8. Select Done.

 

Forward all calls (unconditional forwarding)

 

How to set or activate unconditional call forwarding to forward all calls

 

Call Forwarding Unconditional (CFU) immediately forwards all calls to another phone number without allowing the device to ring. To activate unconditional call forwarding, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, select Start.
  2. Scroll to and select Settings.
  3. Scroll to and select Phone.
  4. Scroll to and select Call Forwarding.
  5. Scroll to and select Unconditional.
  6. Scroll to and select Forward voice calls to.
  7. Scroll to and select Custom or Voicemail.
    Note: If you select Custom to forward calls somewhere other than voicemail, scroll to and select Phone number, and enter the desired number.
  8. Select Done.

 

Forward some calls (conditional forwarding)

 

How to set or activate conditional call forwarding (no reply, busy, unavailable) and seconds to delay

 

Call Forwarding Conditional (CFC) forwards incoming calls to another phone number if you do not or cannot answer them. To activate conditional call forwarding, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, select Start.
  2. Scroll to and select Settings.
  3. Scroll to and select Phone.
  4. Scroll to and select Call Forwarding.
  5. Scroll to and select from the following:
    • No Reply
    • Busy
    • Unavailable
  6. Scroll to select Forward voice calls to
  7. Scroll to and select Custom or Voicemail
  8. Select Done

Reset timer

How to reset or clear call timers

Call timers approximate the time you have used on phone calls. To reset call timers, follow these steps:

 

Note: Call timers do not accurately show how much time T-Mobile bills. T-Mobile charges for connected calls and rounds up to the nearest minute. Call timers count all calls regardless if they connect and count in seconds.

 

  1. From the Home screen, select Start.
  2. Scroll to and select Call History.
  3. Select Menu.
  4. Scroll to and select View Timers.
  5. Select Menu.
  6. Select Reset Timers.
  7. Select Yes to confirm.

While on a call, call waiting alerts you of new incoming calls and allows you to answer them without hanging up. To turn on or turn off call waiting, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, select Start.
  2. Scroll to and select Settings.
  3. Select Phone.
  4. Select More.
  5. Select Call Waiting.
  6. Select the check box to turn on call waiting or clear the check box to turn off.
  7. Select Done.

How to use call waiting to answer or reject an incoming call

 

While on a call, call waiting alerts you of new incoming calls and allows you to answer them without hanging up. When you hear the tone alerting you to a new incoming call, follow these steps:

 

  1. View the alert screen and note the caller ID.
  2. Select Answer or press the green Send key to place your current call on hold and accept the new call or take no action to decline the call.

Conference calling

To speak privately with one caller in a conference call and put the other callers on hold, follow these steps:

 

  1. While on the conference call, select Menu.
  2. Scroll to and select Private.

    Visual Voicemail

    Set up

    1. From the Home screen, select Start.
    2. Scroll to and select Visual Voicemail.
    3. Select Yes to activate.
    4. Select Start.

     

    Access

    1. From the Home screen, select Start.
    2. Scroll to and select Visual Voicemail.

     

    Change password

    1. From the Home screen, select Start.
    2. Scroll to and select Visual Voicemail.
    3. Select Menu.
    4. Scroll to and select Settings.
    5. Scroll to and select Password Change.
    6. At Current Password (PIN), enter your current password. The default password is the last four digits of your mobile number.
    7. Note: Press and hold the number key to enter numbers.
    8. Scroll to New Password (PIN).
    9. Enter the new password.
    10. Scroll to Confirm New Password (PIN).
    11. Re-enter the new password.
    12. Select Save.

     

    Change greeting

    1. From the Home screen, select Start.
    2. Scroll to and select Visual Voicemail.
    3. Select Menu.
    4. Scroll to and select Settings.
    5. Scroll to and select Greeting Message.
    6. Scroll to and select Record a new custom greeting.
    7. Select Save.
    8. Press the trackball to begin recording.
    9. Press the trackball again to stop recording.
    10. Select Save.

     

    Delete messages

    1. From the Home screen, select Start.
    2. Scroll to and select Visual Voicemail.
    3. Scroll to the message you want to delete.
    4. Select Delete.
    5. Select Delete again to confirm.

     

    Listen to a new message

    1. From the Home screen, select Start.
    2. Scroll to and select Visual Voicemail.
    3. Scroll to and select the message you want to play.
    4. Press the trackball to select the Play icon.

     

    Turn on / off Visual Voicemail

    1. From the Home screen, select Start.
    2. Scroll to and select Visual Voicemail.
    3. Select Menu.
    4. Scroll to and select Settings.
    5. Select Visual Voicemail Status.
    6. Scroll to and select On / Off.
    7. Select Save.

     

    Save messages to a memory card

    1. From the Home screen, select Start.
    2. Scroll to and select Visual Voicemail.
    3. Scroll to the message you want to copy and select Menu.
    4. Scroll to and select Copy to.
    5. Edit the file name, if desired.
    6. Scroll to and select the Search button next to the Directory text box.
    7. Scroll to and select Storage Card.
    8. Scroll to the desired location on the storage card and select Save.
    9. Select Save.
    10. Select Ok.

    How to use voice-activated dialing

     

    To use voice-activated dialing to call a contact, follow these steps:

     

    1. Hold the device a few inches away from your mouth.
    2. Press and hold the Shortcut shortcut.bmp key to activate Voice Command.
    3. In a clear voice, say “Call [contact name].” 
      (Voice Command repeats the contact name to verify that it is the contact you want to call).
    4. Say “Yes” or “Correct” to initiate the call.
      Note: If Voice Command is wrong about the contact to call, say "No" or "Incorrect" to try again.

    To retrieve voicemail messages, follow these steps:

    4. Select Call.

    To record Voice Notes, follow these steps:

     

    1. From the Home screen, select Start.
    2. Scroll to and select Applications.
    3. Scroll to and select Voice Recorder.
    4. Select Record to begin recording audio.
    5. Select Stop to end recording.

     

    Send

    How to send Voice Notes

     

    Voice Notes are audio clips within multimedia messages (MMS), which allows you to leave a message without calling or leaving voicemail. To record and send Voice Notes, follow these steps:

    1. From the Home screen, select Start.
    2. Scroll to and select Messaging.
    3. Select Text/Multimedia.
    4. Select Menu.
    5. Scroll to and select New.
    6. Select Multimedia.
    7. At To, perform one of the following actions:
      • Manually enter a phone number.
      • Select a previously called contact by selecting Menu, Recipients, From Call History.
      • Select a contact from the phone book by pressing the trackball and then selecting the desired contact.
    8. Enter text in the Subject line.
    9. Scroll to and select Insert Audio.
    10. Select Menu.
    11. Scroll to and select Capture Audio.
    12. Select Record to begin recording audio.
    13. Select Stop to end recording audio.
    14. Select Menu.
    15. Select Add.
    16. Select Send.
