How to charge the battery.

 

To charge the battery, follow these steps:

Note: If the battery level is below 25%, use the AC adapter instead of a car charger or USB cable.

 

Using the travel charger

  1. Connect the small end of the USB cable to the micro-USB port on the side of the device.

  2. Plug the power adapter into a power outlet.
  3. Charge the battery to full power.

Using USB cable

  1. Connect the small end of the USB cable to the micro-USB port on the side of the device.

  2. Connect the large end of the cable to the USB port on your computer.
  3. Charge the battery to full power.

 

Insert / remove battery

 

How to insert or remove the battery.

 

To insert or remove the battery, follow these steps:

  1. Insert your fingernail underneath the base of the back cover and lift and remove.

  2. Insert the battery so the gold contacts on the battery align with the gold contacts on the device.

  3. Insert the tabs on the back cover into the device and snap the back cover into place.

To remove

SIM card

 

How to insert or remove the SIM card.

 

To insert or remove the SIM card, follow these steps:

  1. Lift and remove the back cover off of the device.

  3. Slide the SIM card into the SIM card holder with the gold contacts facing down and the notched corner of the SIM facing out of the slot.

  4. Insert the battery so the gold contacts on the battery align with the gold contacts on the device.

  5. Insert the tabs on the back cover into the device and snap the back cover into place.

Liquid damage indicator (LDI)

 

How to find the Liquid Damage Indicator (LDI).

 

Each T-Mobile handset includes an indicator that shows if it has been subjected to water, thereby voiding the warranty. To view the Liquid Damage Indicator (LDI), remove the back cover and battery from your handset. Refer to the following illustrations to read the label:

To view the amount of free and used space on a memory card, follow these steps:

  1. From the Home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Scroll to and select the Settings icon.
  3. Scroll to and select the Options icon.
  4. Scroll to and select Memory.
  5. Scroll to ‘Media Card’ to view Total Space and Free Space.

To view the memory status (the amount of free memory and used memory), follow these steps:

  1. From the Home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Scroll to and select the Settings icon.
  3. Scroll to and select the Options icon.

  5. Scroll to Media Card to view Total Space and Free Space.
  6. Scroll to Application Memory to view Free Space.

  2. On your computer, open the BlackBerry Desktop Manager application.

  7. Press the Delete key on the computer keyboard.

Note: Formatting the memory card permanently deletes any data stored on the card.

  1. From the Home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Scroll to and select Settings.
  3. Scroll to and select Options.
  4. Scroll to and select Memory.
  5. Press the Menu key.
  6. Scroll to and select Format.
  7. Scroll to and select Yes to complete the format of the memory card.

  5. In the top part of the window, browse to the folder where you want to save the file.

  7. Click on the file you want to copy.
  8. Click Copy Up.
  9. Click OK.

To copy files from a computer to a memory card using a USB cable, follow these steps:

  1. Connect the small end of your USB cable to your device and the large end of the cable to your computer.
  2. On your computer, open the BlackBerry Desktop Manager application.
  3. Click the Media icon.
  4. Under Media Manager, click Launch.
  5. Under My Devices, click BlackBerry 8520 PIN [Your device PIN] [Media Card].
  6. Browse to the folder where you want to save the file.
  7. In the top part of the window, browse to the file that you want to move.
  8. Click Copy Down.
    The Copy Files window appears.
  9. Select one of the following methods to copy the files to your device:
    • Convert for optimal playback: To automatically convert the files to the optimal format and size for your device.
    • Copy with no conversion: To copy the files with the existing format and size.
    • Advanced conversion options: To select a destination format and size.
  10. Click OK.

  11. Scroll to and select Move here.
