Answer call

 

How to answer or receive a call

To answer an incoming call, tap Answer.

 

If the screen is locked, touch and hold Slide to Answer and slide your finger to the right.

To make a call, follow these steps:

 

Using the Dialer

 

  1. From the Home screen, tap the green Dialer icon.
  2. Tap the Dialer tab, if necessary.

  4. Tap Call.

 

Using the phone book

 

  1. From the Home screen, tap the blue Contacts icon.
  2. Tap the contact you want to call.
  3. Tap the phone number to initiate the call.

 

Using speed dial

 

  1. From the Home screen, tap the green Dialer icon.
  2. Tap the Speed Dial tab.
  3. Tap the desired contact.

 

End call

 

How to end, hang up, or disconnect a call

 

To end a call, tap End call.

 

Hold call

 

How to put a call on hold and return to it

 

To put a call on hold and return to it, follow these steps:

  1. While on a call, press the Menu key.
  2. Tap Hold.

Mute call

 

How to turn on or turn off mute

 

To turn on or turn off mute during a call, follow these steps:

 

To mute

 

While on a call, tap Mute. A green bar appears under Mute when muted.

 

To unmute

 

While muted, tap Mute. The green bar under Mute turns gray.

How to mute the ringtone or an incoming call

 

To immediately mute an incoming call's ring, follow these steps:

 

To mute the ringtone for an incoming call, press the Volume key on the left side of the phone.

 

Speakerphone

Caller ID

Incoming ID

 

How incoming caller ID works

 

Incoming caller ID shows information about incoming calls on the display screen. It automatically shows the caller's name and phone number if it is in the phone book. When the information is not in the phone book, it only displays the caller's number.

 

 

Outgoing ID - Enable

 

How to turn on or enable outgoing caller ID

 

To enable outgoing caller ID so people you call can see your number, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Call settings.
  4. Tap Additional call settings.
  5. Tap Caller ID.
  6. Tap Show number.

 

Outgoing ID - Restrict

 

How to restrict, turn off, or disable outgoing caller ID

 

To restrict outgoing caller ID so people you call cannot see your number, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Call settings.
  4. Tap Additional call settings.
  5. Tap Caller ID.
  6. Tap Hide number.

 

Picture ID - Set

 

How to add or set up picture caller ID for specific callers on incoming calls

 

To assign a picture to a contact, follow these steps:

 

Note: You can assign picture ID to contacts stored in the phone book, but not to those stored on the SIM card.

 

  1. From the Home screen, tap the blue Contacts icon.
  2. Tap the contact that you want to change.
  3. Press the Menu key.
  4. Tap Edit.
  5. Tap the icon in the upper left corner of the screen to the left of the contact’s name.
  6. Tap one of the following:
    • Take photo:
      1. Frame the subject.
      2. Press the Camera key.
      3. Tap Attach.
      4. Touch and slide the box to the desired position.
      5. Touch and drag the box boundary to adjust the size.
      6. Tap Save.
    • Use existing photo:
      1. Tap the desired picture.
      2. Touch and slide the box to the desired position.
      3. Touch and drag the box boundary to adjust the size.
      4. Tap the Check Mark icon.
  7. Scroll down and tap Save.

 

 

Ringer ID - Set

 

How to add or set up ringer caller ID for specific callers on incoming calls

 

To assign a ringer to a contact, follow these steps:

 

Note: You can assign ringer ID to contacts stored in the phone book, but not to those stored on the SIM card.

 

  1. From the Home screen, tap the blue Contacts icon.

How to cancel or turn off all call forwarding

 

To turn off or cancel all call forwarding (including voicemail forwarding), follow these steps:

  1. From the Home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Call settings.
  4. Tap Call forwarding.
  5. Tap Always forward.
  6. Tap Disable.

 

Forward all calls (unconditional forwarding)

How to set or activate unconditional call forwarding to forward all calls

 

To activate unconditional call forwarding, follow these steps:

 

Note: Call Forwarding Unconditional (CFU) immediately forwards all calls to another phone number without allowing the phone to ring.

 

  1. From the Home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Call settings.
  4. Tap Call forwarding.
  5. Tap Always forward.
  6. Enter the phone number you want to forward to, or tap the Silhouette icon to select a number from your contact list.
    Note: The number for voicemail forwarding is +18056377243.
  7. Tap Enable.

 

Forward some calls (conditional forwarding)

 

How to set or activate conditional call forwarding (no reply, busy, unavailable) and seconds to delay

 

To activate conditional call forwarding, follow these steps:

 

Note: Call Forwarding Conditional (CFC) forwards incoming calls to another phone number if you do not or cannot answer them.

 

  1. From the Home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Call settings.
  4. Tap Call forwarding.
  5. Tap a forwarding option:
    • Forward when busy
    • Forward when unanswered
    • Forward when unreachable
  6. Enter the phone number you want to forward to, or tap the Silhouette icon to select a number from your contact list.

  7. Tap Update.

 

Forward calls to voicemail (conditional forwarding)

 

How to turn on call forwarding to voicemail

 

To turn on voicemail forwarding, follow these steps:

  4. Tap Call forwarding.
  5. Tap a forwarding option:

Call settings

DTMF tones

 

DTMF tones are on by default. You cannot turn off DTMF tones.

 

Note: Your phone can send a number to the network as dual tone multi-frequency (DTMF) tones. DTMF tones are used to communicate with automated systems that require you to type a number such as a code, password, or credit card number.

 

Fixed dialing

 

How to disable fixed dialing

 

T-Mobile does not support fixed dialing. To disable fixed dialing if you have enabled it, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, press the Menu button.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Call settings.
  4. Tap Fixed dialing number.
  5. Tap FDN enabled.
  6. Enter the PIN2.
    Note: The default PIN2 is 5678.
  7. Tap OK.

 

Phone line selection

 

Phone line selection is not supported

To raise or lower the ringtone volume, follow these steps:

From the Home screen, press the Volume key down until the volume bar is completely gray.

  1. From the Home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Sound & ringtones.
  4. Tap Ringer volume.
  5. Touch and slide the ringer volume all the way to the left.

 

To raise or lower the ringtone volume

  2. Tap Settings.

To reset call timers, follow these steps:

 

Note: Call timers approximate the time you have used on phone calls Call timers do not accurately show how much time T-Mobile bills. T-Mobile charges for connected calls and rounds up to the nearest minute. Call timers count all calls regardless if they connect and count in seconds.

 

  1. From the Home screen, tap the green Dialer icon.
  2. Tap the Recent tab.
  3. Tap the drop down list below the tabs.
  4. Tap a call list:
    • All Calls
    • Missed calls
    • Received calls
    • Outgoing calls
  5. Press the Menu key.
  6. Tap Clear List.

 

View timer

 

How to view call timers to see the duration of calls on the phone

 

To view call timers, follow these steps:

Place the first call before using call conferencing. To add additional callers to the conference, follow these steps:

 

  1. While on a call, press the Menu key.
  2. Tap New call.
  3. Perform one of the following actions:
    • Tap the Dialer tab, enter a new phone number, and then tap Call.
    • Tap the Dialer tab, tap the Magnifying Glass icon, and then tap the desired contact in your contact list.
  4. Press the Menu key.
  5. Tap Join.
  6. Repeat steps 3-5 to add additional callers.

How to use voice-activated dialing

 

To use voice-activated dialing to call a contact, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, tap the Applications tab.
  2. Tap Voice Commands.

  4. Tap OK to call the contact or Cancel to try again.

Visual Voicemail

Access

Change password

 

  1. From the Home screen, tap the green Dialer icon.
  2. Tap the Voice Mail tab.
  3. Press the Menu key.
  4. Tap Voicemail settings.
  5. Tap Change PIN.
  6. Enter your current 4-digit PIN.
  7. Enter a new 4-digit PIN.
  8. Tap Save.

 

Change greeting

 

  1. From the Home screen, tap the green Dialer icon.
  2. Tap the Voice Mail tab.
  3. Press the Menu key.
  4. Tap Voicemail settings.
  5. Tap Record greeting.
  6. Tap the Record icon.
  7. Record your greeting.
  8. Tap the Stop icon when finished.
  9. Tap the Play icon to review your recording.
  10. Tap Use this recording.

 

Delete messages

 

  1. From the Home screen, tap the green Dialer icon.
  2. Tap the Voice Mail tab.
  3. Tap the message you want to delete.
  4. Tap Delete.
  5. Tap Yes to confirm.

 

Listen to a new message

 

  1. From the Home screen, tap the green Dialer icon.
  2. Tap the Voice Mail tab.
  3. Tap the message you want to listen to.
  4. Tap the Play icon.

 

Turn on / off Visual Voicemail

 

  1. From the Home screen, tap the green Dialer icon.
  2. Tap the Voice Mail tab.
  3. Press the Menu key.
  4. Tap Voicemail settings.
  5. Tap Deactivate or Activate.
  6. Tap Yes to deactivate or OK to activate.

 

Save messages to a memory card

 

  1. From the Home screen, tap the green Dialer icon.
  2. Tap the Voice Mail tab.
  3. Tap the message you want to save.
  4. Press the Menu key.
  5. Tap Copy to Memory Card.
  6. Enter the desired file name.
  7. Tap OK.
