How to access the battery use screen

The battery use screen displays which applications and services are consuming  the most battery power. You can touch an application to view battery usage  details and change settings. To access the battery use screen, follow these  steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Touch Settings.
  3. Touch and slide the screen up.
  4. Touch About phone.
  5. Touch Battery use.
  6. Touch an application or service to view battery usage details and to change  settings.

 

How to charge the battery

To charge the battery, follow these steps:

 

    Note: If the battery level is below 25%, use the AC adapter  instead of a car charger or USB cable.

 

  1. Connect the small end of the charger cable to the USB port on the bottom of  the device.
  2. Plug the other end of the charger cable into a wall outlet. If using the USB  cable, plug the other end into a USB port on a computer.

To insert or remove the battery, follow these steps:

 

To insert

 

  1. Push the top-left corner of the back cover down toward the base of the  device.
  2. Lift the back cover off of the device.
  3. Insert the battery with the gold contacts on the battery facing the gold  contacts on the device.
  4. Replace the back cover, and push the cover up toward the top of the device.
  5. Click the back cover into place.

 

To remove

 

  1. Push the top-left corner of the back cover down toward the base of the  device.
  2. Lift the back cover off of the device.
  3. Lift and remove the battery.
  4. Replace the back cover, and push the cover up toward the top of the device.
  5. Click the back cover into place.

 

 

How to insert or remove the SIM card

To insert or remove the SIM card, follow these steps:

To insert

  1. Push down on the top left corner of the back cover toward the base of the  device.
  2. Lift the back cover off the device.

  3. Lift and remove the battery.

  4. Insert the SIM card into the SIM card slot with the gold contacts facing  down and the cut off corner facing out of the slot.

  5. Replace the battery with the gold contacts on the battery facing the gold  contacts on the device.

  6. Replace the back cover and push up on the cover toward the top of the  device.

  7. Click the back cover into place.

To remove

  1. Push down on the top left corner of the back cover toward the base of the  device.
  2. Lift the back cover off the device.

  4. Slide the SIM card from the SIM card slot.

  5. Insert the battery with the gold contacts on the battery facing the gold  contacts on the device.

  6. Replace the back cover and push up on the cover toward the top of the  device.

How to access files on a memory card from a computer

 

To view files on a memory card from a computer, follow these steps:

 

  1. Connect the phone to your computer using the USB cable.
  2. From the Home screen, touch the top of the screen and drag down to display the notifications window.
  3. Tap USB connected.
  4. Tap Turn on USB storage.
  5. Tap OK.
  6. On the computer, a Removable Disk window appears. Click Open folder to view files using Windows Explorer.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Navigate to the desired folder to access your files.
  9. When finished, click the Safely Remove Hardware icon in the lower right corner of your computer screen.
  10. Click USB Mass Storage Device.
  11. Click Stop.
  12. Click USB Mass Storage Device.
  13. Click OK.     
    • Note: A Safe To Remove Hardware alert appears in the lower right corner of your computer screen.
  14. On the phone, tap Turn off USB storage.
  15. Disconnect the phone from the computer.

To view files on a memory card, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, tap the Launcher  button.
  2. Tap Gallery.
  3. Scroll through and tap to access folders and files.

 

Delete files - On card using computer

 

How to delete files on a memory card from a computer

 

To delete files on a memory card from a computer, follow these steps:

 

  1. Connect the phone to your computer using the USB cable.
  2. From the Home screen, touch the top of the screen and drag down to display the notifications window.
  3. Tap USB connected.
  4. Tap Turn on USB storage.
  5. Tap OK.
  6. On the computer, a Removable Disk window appears.
  7. Click Open folder to view files using Windows Explorer.
  8. Click OK.
  9. Navigate to the desired folder to access your files.
  10. Select and delete the desired files.
  11. When finished, click the Safely Remove Hardware icon in the lower right corner of your computer screen.
