Access


Log in

To log in to your T-Mobile HotSpot Admin page, follow these steps:

 

  1. Connect an Internet-ready device to the Mobile HotSpot.
  2. Open a Web browser and navigate to http://mobile.hotspot, or use the T-Mobile HotSpot Admin shortcut to access the T-Mobile HotSpot Admin page.

  3. Enter your password.
    Note: Passwords are case sensitive. The default password is admin.
  4. Click Login.

Log out

To log out of your T-Mobile HotSpot Admin page, follow these steps:

 

  1. Click Logout.
  2. Click OK.

 

 

On-screen indicators

The Mobile HotSpot Admin page shows the following on-screen device status indicators:

Connection status

To view the connection status, follow these steps:

 

  1. Connect an Internet-ready device to the Mobile HotSpot.
  2. Open a Web browser and navigate to http://mobile.hotspot, or use the T-Mobile HotSpot Admin shortcut to access the T-Mobile HotSpot Admin page.
  3. Enter your password.
    Note: Passwords are case sensitive. The default password is admin.
  4. Click Login.
  5. Click the Home tab.

    Note: Click Advanced to view detailed connection status information.

 

 

Device Settings


Change Admin Page login password

To change your T-Mobile HotSpot Admin page login password, follow these steps:

 

  1. Connect an Internet-ready device to the Mobile HotSpot.
  2. Open a Web browser and navigate to http://mobile.hotspot, or use the T-Mobile HotSpot Admin shortcut to access the T-Mobile HotSpot Admin page.
  3. Enter your password.
    Note: Passwords are case sensitive. The default password is admin.
  4. Click Login.
  5. If necessary, click the Settings tab.
  6. If necessary, click Device Settings.
  7. Click Change Admin UI Password.
  8. Enter your current password.
  9. Enter your new password.
  10. Enter your new password again to confirm.

  12. Click Continue.

 



Change SSID and Wi-Fi password

To change your SSID, follow these steps:

 

  1. Connect an Internet-ready device to the Mobile HotSpot.
  2. Open a Web browser and navigate to http://mobile.hotspot, or use the T-Mobile HotSpot Admin shortcut to access the T-Mobile HotSpot Admin page.
  3. Enter your password.
    Note: Passwords are case sensitive. The default password is admin.
  4. Click Login.
  5. If necessary, click the Settings tab.
  6. If necessary, click Device Settings.
  7. If necessary, click Change SSID & Password.

  8. In the Name field, enter your new SSID name.
  9. Click Next.
  10. In the WPA Pre-Shared Key field, enter your new password.
  11. Click Finish.
  12. Click OK.
  13. Click Continue.
    Note: Any devices connected to your Mobile HotSpot when you change the SSID or password will be disconnected.

 

 

Network Settings

Important: If you are not an advanced user, we recommended that you use the default settings. If you have problems using the Mobile HotSpot after you have changed any setting, you can perform a reset to restore all Mobile HotSpot settings to the factory defaults.

 



View network settings

To view network settings, follow these steps:

 

  1. Connect an Internet-ready device to the Mobile HotSpot.
  2. Open a Web browser and navigate to http://mobile.hotspot, or use the T-Mobile HotSpot Admin shortcut to access the T-Mobile HotSpot Admin page.
  3. Enter your password.
    Note: Passwords are case sensitive. The default password is admin.
  4. Click Login.
  5. If necessary, click the Settings tab.
  6. Click Network Settings.
  7. Click on the following options to view network settings:
    • Network Selection
    • Profile Selection
    • Profile Management

 



Network Selection

Network Selection is only available when roaming.

 

To use Network Selection, follow these steps:

 

  1. Connect an Internet-ready device to the Mobile HotSpot.
  2. Open a Web browser and navigate to http://mobile.hotspot, or use the T-Mobile HotSpot Admin shortcut to access the T-Mobile HotSpot Admin page.
  3. Enter your password.
    Note: Passwords are case sensitive. The default password is admin.
  4. Click Login.
  5. If necessary, click the Settings tab.
  6. Click Network Settings.
  7. Click Network Selection.
  8. From the Preferred Mode drop-down menu, select from the following options:

    Auto
    The Mobile HotSpot automatically searches for and selects an available network.

    Manual
    You manually search for and select an available network.
  9. Click Apply.

 



Profile Selection

Profile Selection allows you to use a service provider other than T-Mobile while roaming.

 

To use Profile Selection, follow these steps:

 

  1. Connect an Internet-ready device to the Mobile HotSpot.
  2. Open a Web browser and navigate to http://mobile.hotspot, or use the T-Mobile HotSpot Admin shortcut to access the T-Mobile HotSpot Admin page.
  3. Enter your password.
    Note: Passwords are case sensitive. The default password is admin.
  4. Click Login.
  5. If necessary, click the Settings tab.
  6. Click Network Settings.
  7. Click Profile Selection.
  8. From the Profile List drop-down menu, select the desired profile.
  9. In the Max Idle Time (s) field, enter the number of seconds you want the Mobile HotSpot to sit idle before it disconnects from the Internet.
  10. Click Apply.

 



Profile Management

Use Profile Management to add or delete network profiles for service providers other than T-Mobile.


Create new network profile

To create a new network profile for another service provider, follow these steps:

 

  1. Connect an Internet-ready device to the Mobile HotSpot.
  2. Open a Web browser and navigate to http://mobile.hotspot, or use the T-Mobile HotSpot Admin shortcut to access the T-Mobile HotSpot Admin page.
  3. Enter your password.
    Note: Passwords are case sensitive. The default password is admin.
  4. Click Login.
  5. If necessary, click the Settings tab.
  6. Click Network Settings.
  7. Click Profile Management.
  8. Click New.

  9. Enter a name for your new profile.
  10. Enter the User Name and Password for the network you want to connect to.
  11. If the provider uses a Static APN, click to select Static APN and enter the address.
  12. If the provider uses a Static IP Address, click to select Static IP Address and enter the address in the field.
  13. Click Save.
  14. Click Continue.


Delete network profile

To delete a network profile, follow these steps:

 

  1. Connect an Internet-ready device to the Mobile HotSpot.
  2. Open a Web browser and navigate to http://mobile.hotspot, or use the T-Mobile HotSpot Admin shortcut to access the T-Mobile HotSpot Admin page.
  3. Enter your password.
    Note: Passwords are case sensitive. The default password is admin.
  4. Click Login.
  5. If necessary, click the Settings tab.
  6. Click Profile Management.
  7. From the Profile List drop-down menu, select the profile you want to delete.

Wi-Fi


Wi-Fi settings - Access

To access Wi-Fi settings, follow these steps:

 

  1. Connect an Internet-ready device to the Mobile HotSpot.
  2. Open a Web browser and navigate to http://mobile.hotspot, or use the T-Mobile HotSpot Admin shortcut to access the T-Mobile HotSpot Admin page.
  3. Enter your password.
    Note: Passwords are case sensitive. The default password is admin.
  4. Click Login.
  5. If necessary, click the Settings tab.
  6. Click Wi-Fi.

Basic Settings


Wi-Fi Radio

To turn the Wi-Fi Radio on or off, follow these steps:

 

  1. Connect an Internet-ready device to the Mobile HotSpot.
  2. Open a Web browser and navigate to http://mobile.hotspot, or use the T-Mobile HotSpot Admin shortcut to access the T-Mobile HotSpot Admin page.
  3. Enter your password.
    Note: Passwords are case sensitive. The default password is admin.
  4. Click Login.
  5. If necessary, click the Settings tab.
  6. Click Wi-Fi.
  7. If necessary, click Basic Settings.
  8. Click the Wi-Fi Radio drop-down menu and select On or Off.

  10. Click Continue.


Wi-Fi Auto Off

To conserve battery power, your Mobile HotSpot can automatically turn off its Wi-Fi radio and LCD screen after a designated period of inactivity. To enable or disable Auto Off, follow these steps:

 


Enable

 

  1. Connect an Internet-ready device to the Mobile HotSpot.
  2. Open a Web browser and navigate to http://mobile.hotspot, or use the T-Mobile HotSpot Admin shortcut to access the T-Mobile HotSpot Admin page.
  3. Enter your password.
    Note: Passwords are case sensitive. The default password is admin.
  4. Click Login.
  5. If necessary, click the Settings tab.
  6. Click Wi-Fi.
  7. If necessary, click Basic Settings.
  8. Click the Wi-Fi Auto Off drop-down menu and select Enabled.
  9. Click the Wi-Fi Off Time (Min) drop-down menu and select from the following options:
    • 10
    • 20
    • 30

      Note: To turn the Wi-Fi radio back on and wake the LCD screen, quickly press the Power key.


Disable

 

  1. Connect an Internet-ready device to the Mobile HotSpot.
  2. Open a Web browser and navigate to http://mobile.hotspot, or use the T-Mobile HotSpot Admin shortcut to access the T-Mobile HotSpot Admin page.
  3. Enter your password.
    Note: Passwords are case sensitive. The default password is admin.
  4. Click Login.
  5. If necessary, click the Settings tab.
  6. Click Wi-Fi.
  7. If necessary, click Basic Settings.

  8. Click the Wi-Fi Auto Off drop down menu and select Disabled.
  9. Click Apply.
  10. Click Continue.

 



Advanced Settings - Access

Important: If you are not an advanced user, we recommended that you use the default settings. If you have problems using the Mobile HotSpot after you have changed any setting, you can perform a Factory Reset Link to: Perform Factory Reset to restore all Mobile HotSpot settings to the factory defaults.

 

  1. Connect an Internet-ready device to the Mobile HotSpot.
  2. Open a Web browser and navigate to http://mobile.hotspot, or use the T-Mobile HotSpot Admin shortcut to access the T-Mobile HotSpot Admin page.
  3. Enter your password.
    Note: Passwords are case sensitive. The default password is admin.
  4. Click Login.
  5. If necessary, click the Settings tab.
  6. Click Wi-Fi.
  7. Click Advanced Settings.

 



Wi-Fi security settings

To change Wi-Fi security settings, follow these steps:

 

  1. Connect an Internet-ready device to the Mobile HotSpot.
  2. Open a Web browser and navigate to http://mobile.hotspot, or use the T-Mobile HotSpot Admin shortcut to access the T-Mobile HotSpot Admin page.
  3. Enter your password.
    Note: Passwords are case sensitive. The default password is admin.
  4. Click Login.
  5. If necessary, click the Settings tab.
  6. Click Security.
  7. If necessary, click Wi-Fi Settings.

  8. If desired, enter a new Mobile HotSpot name in the Name (SSID) field.
  9. If desired, click the SSID Broadcast drop-down menu and select Disabled. The Mobile HotSpot will stop broadcasting its name.
  10. Click Next.
  11. If desired, click the 802.11 Security drop-down menu and select from the following options:
    • Auto-WEP
    • Open
    • Share-WEP
    • WPA-PSK
    • WPA2-PSK
    • WPAWPA2-PSK
  12. If desired, click the WPA Encryption drop-down menu and select from the following options:
    • AES
    • TKIP
    • AES+TKIP
  13. If desired, enter a new password in the WPA Pre-Shared Key field.
  14. Click Finish.

 



WPS PIN


Assign WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) PIN code

To assign a WPS PIN code, follow these steps:

 

  1. Connect an Internet-ready device to the Mobile HotSpot.
  2. Open a Web browser and navigate to http://mobile.hotspot, or use the T-Mobile HotSpot Admin shortcut to access the T-Mobile HotSpot Admin page.
  3. Enter your password.
    Note: Passwords are case sensitive. The default password is admin.
  4. Click Login.
  5. If necessary, click the Settings tab.
  6. Click Wi-Fi.
  7. Click WPS.
  8. In the WPS PIN field, enter the PIN you want to use.
    Note: PIN must be 4 to 8 digits long.
  9. Click Apply.
  10. Click Continue.

 



DHCP Settings - Access

DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) allows the Mobile HotSpot to automatically assign IP addresses to connected devices.

 

Important: If you are not an advanced user, we recommended that you use the default settings. If you have problems using the Mobile HotSpot after you have changed any setting, you can perform a Factory Reset Link to: Perform Factory Reset to restore all Mobile HotSpot settings to the factory defaults.

 

To access DHCP settings, follow these steps:

 

  1. Connect an Internet-ready device to the Mobile HotSpot.
  2. Open a Web browser and navigate to http://mobile.hotspot, or use the T-Mobile HotSpot Admin shortcut to access the T-Mobile HotSpot Admin page.
  3. Enter your password.
    Note: Passwords are case sensitive. The default password is admin.
  4. Click Login.
  5. If necessary, click the Settings tab.
  6. Click Wi-Fi.
  7. Click DHCP.

Security


Firewall

To enable or disable the firewall, follow these steps:

 

  1. Connect an Internet-ready device to the Mobile HotSpot.
  2. Open a Web browser and navigate to http://mobile.hotspot, or use the T-Mobile HotSpot Admin shortcut to access the T-Mobile HotSpot Admin page.
  3. Enter your password.
    Note: Passwords are case sensitive. The default password is admin.
  4. Click Login.
  5. If necessary, click the Settings tab.
  6. Click Security.
  7. Click Firewall.
  8. Click the checkbox next to Enable the firewall to enable or disable the firewall.

SIM PIN

A SIM PIN code provides a secondary level of security for the Mobile HotSpot and helps to prevent unauthorized use of your account.

 

Warning: If you enter the wrong SIM PIN three times in a row, your SIM card will lock. If that happens, you must contact Customer Care to obtain a PUK (Personal Unblocking Key) code to unlock your SIM card.


Assign SIM PIN

To set up a SIM PIN, follow these steps:

 

  1. Connect an Internet-ready device to the Mobile HotSpot.
  2. Open a Web browser and navigate to http://mobile.hotspot, or use the T-Mobile HotSpot Admin shortcut to access the T-Mobile HotSpot Admin page.
  3. Enter your password.
    Note: Passwords are case sensitive. The default password is admin.
  4. Click Login.
  5. If necessary, click the Settings tab.
  6. Click Security.
  7. Click SIM Card PIN.
  8. In the PIN Code field, enter the desired PIN.
    Note: PIN must be between 4 and 8 digits long.
  9. Click Apply.
  10. Click Continue.


Change SIM PIN

To change your SIM PIN, follow these steps:

 

  1. Connect an Internet-ready device to the Mobile HotSpot.
  2. Open a Web browser and navigate to http://mobile.hotspot, or use the T-Mobile HotSpot Admin shortcut to access the T-Mobile HotSpot Admin page.
  3. Enter your password.
    Note: Passwords are case sensitive. The default password is admin.
  4. Click Login.
  5. If necessary, click the Settings tab.
  6. Click Security.
  7. Click SIM Card PIN.
  8. From the PIN Code Operation drop-down menu, select Modify.
  9. In the PIN Code field, enter your current PIN.
  10. In the New PIN field, enter your new PIN.
  11. In the Confirm PIN field, enter your new PIN again.
  12. Click Apply.
  13. Click Continue.


PIN Auto Validation

Auto Validation records your SIM PIN and automatically validates the PIN after a restart. To enable or disable Auto Validation, follow these steps:

 

  1. Connect an Internet-ready device to the Mobile HotSpot.
  2. Open a Web browser and navigate to http://mobile.hotspot, or use the T-Mobile HotSpot Admin shortcut to access the T-Mobile HotSpot Admin page.
  3. Enter your password.
    Note: Passwords are case sensitive. The default password is admin.
  4. Click Login.
  5. If necessary, click the Settings tab.
  6. Click SIM card PIN.
  7. Enter the current PIN Code and click Apply.
  8. Click Continue.
  9. Next to Auto Validate, click Enabled or Disabled.

  10. Enter the current PIN Code.
  11. Click Apply.
  12. Click Continue.


Unlock device

If the SIM PIN is entered incorrectly three times in a row, the SIM card locks. To unlock the SIM card, follow these steps:

 

  1. Contact T-Mobile Customer Care and request a Device Unlock code (PUK).
  2. Connect an Internet-ready device to the Mobile HotSpot.
  3. Open a Web browser and navigate to http://mobile.hotspot, or use the T-Mobile HotSpot Admin shortcut to access the T-Mobile HotSpot Admin page.
  4. Enter your password.
    Note: Passwords are case sensitive. The default password is admin.
  5. Click Login.
  6. If necessary, click the Settings tab.
  7. Click Security.
  8. Click Unlock Device.
  9. Enter the SIM Unlock code you obtained from T-Mobile Customer Care.
    Warning: If you enter the wrong Device Unlock code ten times, the Mobile HotSpot will lock permanently.
  10. Click Apply.

 

 

Backup settings


Backup

You may want to back up your current settings so you can easily restore them after changing settings or performing a factory reset. To back up current settings, follow these steps:

 

  1. Connect an Internet-ready device to the Mobile HotSpot.
  2. Open a Web browser and navigate to http://mobile.hotspot, or use the T-Mobile HotSpot Admin shortcut to access the T-Mobile HotSpot Admin page.
  3. Enter your password.
    Note: Passwords are case sensitive. The default password is admin.
  4. Click Login.
  5. If necessary, click the Settings tab.
  6. Click System.
  7. If necessary, click Backup Settings.backupsettings.png
  8. Click Backup.
  9. If necessary, click Save.

 



Restore settings

To restore backed up settings, follow these steps:

 

  1. Connect an Internet-ready device to the Mobile HotSpot.
  2. Open a Web browser and navigate to http://mobile.hotspot, or use the T-Mobile HotSpot Admin shortcut to access the T-Mobile HotSpot Admin page.
  3. Enter your password.
    Note: Passwords are case sensitive. The default password is admin.
  4. Click Login.
  5. If necessary, click the Settings tab.
  6. Click System.
  7. Click Backup Settings.
  8. Click Browse to locate and select the settings file.
    Note: The file may be named sqlite.db.
  9. Click Reset.
  10. If necessary, click OK.
