Troubleshooting the Issue

 

If the touch screen of the device stops working or stops responding to taps,  follow these steps:

 

  1. Press the soft keys to verify that the touch screen is the only thing not working.
    Note: If the keys do not respond to presses, the device may be frozen. This is not an issue with the touch screen.
  2. Remove any screen protector from the device.
  3. Soft reset the device.
  4. If the device does not soft reset, then remove the battery and reinsert it.
  5. Turn on the device.
  6. If the touch screen is still not responding, remove the SIM card and memory card.
  7. Turn on the device.
  8. If the touch screen responds without the memory card, then back up the information on the memory card and format it, or purchase a new memory card.
  9. Re-insert the memory card and SIM card.
  10. Turn on the device.
  11. If the issue persists, you must perform a master reset by following Master reset: HTC HD2.
  12. If the issue recurs, repeat the steps above.
  13. If the issue persists after troubleshooting has been exhausted, contact Customer Care for further assistance and reference the below DOC number.
