Software update: T-Mobile webConnect Manager

    This document gives you steps to determine the correct connection manager software and version for a specific laptop stick or netbook. It also contains steps for downloading or updating to the correct software.

     

     

    Resolution Steps

    • You MUST use the connection manager associated with your device whether they have a commitment (Postpaid) or no commitment (Pay in Advance).
    • At this time, no software updates have been made available for prepaid laptop sticks.
      Note: Jet Prepaid laptop stick customers can download Jet Postpaid Connection Manager software if an update is necessary.
    • You can update the software by going to www.t-mobile.com/webconnectupgrade and selecting the mobile internet device you have.

    Procedures

    Note: When a new version is installed, the update file will uninstall the previous version and install a fresh copy of the connection manager.

     

    T-Mobile webConnect Manager

    View webConnect Manager version

    To find the software version for your webConnect Manager, follow these steps:

     

    Windows

     

    1. At the main webConnect Manager screen, click Help.
    2. Click About T-Mobile webConnect Manager to view the software version.
      • The software version appears under Version.

     

    Mac OS X

     

    1. With the webConnect Manager open, click T-Mobile webConnect Manager.
    2. Select About T-Mobile webConnect Manager.
      • The version appears under Version.

     

    Check for webConnect Manager updates

    There may be periodic updates to the connection manager software.

     

    To check manually check for updates, use the following steps:

     

    Windows

     

    1. Open the webConnect Manager and click the Broadband tab.
    2. Click Tools.
    3. Click Settings.
    4. Click the Updates tab.
    5. Click Update Now.

     

    Mac OS X

     

    1. Open the webConnect Manager and click the Broadband tab.
    2. Click Preferences.
    3. Click Settings.
    4. Click the Updates tab.
    5. Click Update Now.

     

    Download a webConnect Manager update from T-Mobile.com

    1. Open the web browser.
    2. Go to: http://www.t-mobile.com/webconnectupgrade/.
    3. Find the appropriate product, and click the get software button.
    4. Click on the connection manager link.
    5. Click the Download button.
    6. When prompted, save the file to the Desktop.

     

     

    Install a webConnect Manager update

    There may be periodic updates to the connection manager software.

     

    To install the update, follow these steps:

     

    1. Open the webConnect Manager.
    2. Connect to Wi-Fi or T-Mobile Broadband.
    3. When prompted, click the Download button.
    4. Once the download is complete, click Close.
    5. Once the update to 2.05.0055.0 is completed, the InstallShield Wizard will display.
    6. When prompted, close the webConnect Manager.
    7. Click Next.
    8. Read the license agreement and click the I accept the terms in the License Agreement button.
    9. Click Next.
    10. If desired, click Change to change the installation folder and then click Next.
    11. Click Install.
    12. The window will display the progress of the installation.
    13. Click Finish.
    14. Restart the computer.

     

     

    T-Mobile Connection Manager

     

    Download a T-Mobile Connection Manager update from T-Mobile.com

    1. Open the web browser.
    2. Go to: http://www.t-mobile.com/webconnectupgrade/.
    3. Find the Rocket 4G USB Laptop Stick and click the get software button.

    4. Click on the connection manager link.
    5. Click the Download button.
    6. When prompted, save the file to the Desktop.

     

    Install a T-Mobile Connection Manager update

    There may be periodic updates to the connection manager software.

     

    To install the update, follow these steps:

     

    1. Open the file on the Desktop.
    2. Follow the prompts to complete the update.
