Premium Handset Protection® (PHP) provides protection against device malfunction due to a mechanical breakdown, accidental damage, loss, and theft.

With PHP, you can live your life knowing you're covered for malfunction due to a mechanical breakdown, accidental damage, loss, and theft. Phone dropped in water? Covered!  Keypad stopped working? Covered!

 

Convenience

File your claim quickly and easily, either online or by phone.

  • Every replacement phone comes with six months warranty or the original manufacturer's warranty, whichever is longer.
  • Get reconnected quickly. Once your claim is approved by Assurant Solutions, your replacement phone will be shipped overnight (if available), at no charge.

 

Low cost

You'll know exactly what you're going to pay for the replacement phone, and you won't pay the full replacement cost for a phone.

 

Important: You have 14 days from a qualified T-Mobile device purchase to enroll in Premium Handset Protection.

 

 

Qualifications and costs of PHP details

An $8 monthly charge per device will be added to your bill.

 

Enrollment must occur no later than 14 days after a purchase of a qualified T-Mobile phone. You can cancel coverage at any time, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you already have PHP, find out how to file a claim.

 

For all states (except New York):

Premium Handset Protection covers the Service Contract components (Mechanical Breakdown and Accidental Damage). Also, you receive Loss and Theft coverage benefits at no additional cost to you. You'll be a certificate holder on T-Mobile's Insurance Policy for Loss and Theft coverage benefits. T-Mobile pays for these benefits on your behalf. There are no separate insurance fees.

 

For New York customers only:

Premium Handset Protection includes the Service Contract component (Mechanical Breakdown). Also, you receive loss, theft, and accidental damage coverage benefits. Benefits may also be purchased separately through an insurance program that offers coverage in the event of loss, theft, and accidental damage for a monthly charge of $6 per device, or through an extended service contract that offers coverage against mechanical breakdown for a monthly charge of $5 per device.

 

 

Eligibility

Premium Handset Protection is a feature provided by Assurant Solutions and offered by T-Mobile that provides device replacement coverage for accidental damage. malfunction due to a mechanical breakdown, loss, and theft, after the manufacturer's warranty expires.

 

Coverage includes replacement of the device, SIM, battery, and standard charger. Other accessories, routers, and netbooks are not covered.

 

Warranty exchanges are completed by T-Mobile for device manufacturer defects that could occur within the first year of the Manufacture Warranty. Contact T-Mobile Customer Service if you're experiencing a warranty issue.

 

 

Premium Handset Protection and Lookout Mobile Security coverage and pricing

A monthly charge will appear on your bill; no separate invoices or checks to write.

 

Important: When buying PHP only, the Lookout Mobile Security Premium feature is not included.

Per Claim Limit

  • Maximum of two approved claims within a 12-month period for claims of accidental damage, loss, or theft. (Subject to your deductible.)
  • No maximum on the amount of replacements for mechanical breakdowns.

Equipment Covered

With PHP, you're covered for one wireless phone or device, using the SIM card associated with your T-Mobile account at the moment of loss, theft, damage, or malfunction.
Note: Activating a new SIM card before filing a claim may delay the replacement process.

 

Accessories provided as part of your original phone purchase are covered only in the event of the simultaneous loss or theft of both your phone and accessories.

 

Your replacement phone will be a reconditioned one of like type and quality. If a reconditioned phone isn't available, the replacement will be a new phone of like type and quality.
