Over The Air updates (OTA) (Motorola CLIQ™ with MOTOBLUR™)
The phone automatically updates its software using over-the-air (OTA) updates. You cannot perform a software update manually. When new software is available, the phone displays a prompt asking you to update the system.
When you see a prompt for a software update, perform one of the following actions:
- To update the software, tap Update now. The update may take 5-10 minutes to download. After updating, the phone restarts automatically.
- To wait and update later, tap Update later. You normally receive another reminder 6-24 hours later.
There are two kinds of software updates:
- Simple patch: This only patches software bugs and features, and it does not reset the phone.
- Full software update: The full software update resets the phone and removes settings or applications you have stored. The update warns you if information will be erased. If you lose any applications from Android Market, you can download them again at no cost.
To check for OTA updates, perform the following steps:
| 1. | At the Home screen, press the Menu key. |
| 2. | Tap Settings. |
| 3. | Tap About phone. |
| 4. | Tap System updates. |
