
Memory Card (Sony Ericsson Equinox TM717)
Inserting the card
To insert the card, perform the following steps:
| 1. | Remove the battery cover by putting your fingernail in the cover release slot. |
| 2. | Lift up to release the cover and then lift up and away. |
| 3. | Slide the memory card into the memory card slot with the golden contacts facing down. |
| 4. | Align the golden contacts on the battery with the contacts in the battery compartment. |
| 5. | Snap the battery into place. |
| 6. | Replace the battery cover. |
Removing the card
To remove the card, perform the following steps:
| 1. | Remove the battery cover by putting your fingernail in the cover release slot. |
| 2. | Lift up to release the cover and then lift up and away. |
| 3. | Slide the memory card from the memory card slot. |
| 4. | Align the golden contacts on the battery with the contacts in the battery compartment. |
| 5. | Snap the battery into place. |
| 6. | Replace the battery cover. |
Accessing files
On a card using the computer
To access files on a card using the computer, perform the following steps:
| 1. | Connect the phone to your computer using a USB cable. |
| 2. | On your phone, scroll to and select Mass storage. |
| 3. | Select Yes to confirm. |
| 4. | A Phone Card window will appear on your computer screen. |
NOTE: A Phone window will also appear. This is for the phone memory.
| 5. | Highlight Open Folder to view files using Windows Explorer and click OK. |
| 6. | Double-click the desired folder to access files. |
| 7. | When you are finished accessing files, double click the My Computer icon on your computer desktop. |
| 8. | Right click the Phone Card icon and select Eject. Your phone will display, Mass storage session ended. It is now safe to remove the USB cable. |
| 9. | Remove the USB cable from the phone. |
On a card using the phone
To access files on a card using the phone, perform the following steps:
| 1. | At the main screen, select Menu. |
| 2. | Scroll to and select Organizer. |
| 3. | Scroll to and select File Manager. |
| 4. | Press the Right Navigation key to scroll to the On memory card tab. |
| 5. | Scroll to the desired folder and file. |
Deleting files
Deleting files on a card using the computer
To delete files on a card using the computer, perform the following steps:
| 1. | Connect the phone to your computer using a USB cable. |
| 2. | On your phone, scroll to and select Mass storage. |
| 3. | Select Yes to confirm. |
| 4. | A Phone Card window will appear on your computer screen. |
NOTE: A Phone window will also appear. This is for the phone memory.
| 5. | Highlight Open Folder to view files using Windows Explorer and click OK. |
| 6. | Double click on the desired folder. |
| 7. | Click the file that you want to delete. |
| 8. | Press the Delete key on the computer keyboard. |
| 9. | When you are finished deleting files, double click the My Computer icon on your computer desktop. |
| 10. | Right click on the Phone Card icon and select Eject. Your phone will display, Mass storage session ended. It is now safe to remove the USB cable. |
| 11. | Remove the USB cable from the phone. |
Deleting files on a card using the phone
To delete files on a card using the phone, perform the following steps:
| 1. | At the main screen, select Menu. |
| 2. | Scroll to and select Organizer. |
| 3. | Scroll to and select File Manager. |
| 4. | Press the Navigation key right to select the On memory card tab. |
| 5. | Scroll to the desired folder and file. |
| 6. | Select Options and select Delete. |
| 7. | Select Yes to confirm. |
Moving files
Moving files from the card to computer
To move files from card to computer, perform the following steps:
| 1. | Connect the phone to your computer using a USB cable. |
| 2. | On your phone, scroll to and select Mass storage, and then select Yes to confirm. |
| 3. | A Phone Card window will appear on your computer screen. |
NOTE: A Phone window will also appear. This is for the phone memory.
| 4. | Highlight Open Folder to view files using Windows Explorer and click OK. |
| 5. | Double click the desired folder. |
| 6. | Click the file that you want to move. |
| 7. | Press the Ctrl+c on the computer keyboard to copy the file. |
| 8. | Navigate to a folder on your computer and press Ctrl+v on your computer keyboard to paste the file. |
| 8. | When you are finished deleting files, double click the My Computer icon on your computer desktop. |
| 9. | Right click the Phone Card icon and select Eject. |
NOTE: Your phone will display, Mass storage session ended. It is now safe to remove the USB cable.
| 10. | Remove the USB cable from the phone. |
Moving files from the card to phone
To move files from the card to the phone, perform the following steps:
| 1. | At the main screen, select Menu. |
| 2. | Scroll to and select Organizer. |
| 3. | Scroll to and select File Manager. |
| 4. | Press the Navigation key right to scroll to the On memory card tab. |
| 5. | Scroll to the desired folder and file. |
| 7. | Scroll to and select Manage file. |
| 8. | Scroll to and select Move. |
| 9. | Scroll to and select Phone. |
| 10. | Scroll to and select the desired folder on the phone. |
Moving files from the computer to the card
To move files from computer to the card, perform the following steps:
| 1. | Connect the phone to your computer using a USB cable. |
| 2. | On your phone, scroll to and select Mass storage, and then select Yes to confirm. |
| 3. | A Phone Card window will appear on your computer screen. |
NOTE: A Phone window may also appear. This is for your phone memory.
| 4. | Highlight Open Folder to view files using Windows Explorer and click OK. |
| 5. | Navigate to a file on your computer that you want to move. |
| 7. | Press the Ctrl+c on the computer keyboard to copy the file. |
| 8. | Navigate to a folder on your phone’s memory card. |
| 9. | Press Ctrl+v on your computer keyboard to paste the file. |
| 10. | When you are finished moving files, double click the My Computer icon on your computer desktop. |
| 11. | Right click the Phone Card icon and select Eject. |
NOTE: Your phone will display, Mass storage session ended. It is now safe to remove the USB cable.
| 12. | Remove the USB cable from the phone. |
Moving files from the phone to the card
To move files from phone to the card, perform the following steps:
| 1. | At the main screen, select Menu. |
| 2. | Scroll to and select Organizer. |
| 3. | Scroll to and select File Manager. |
| 4. | Press the Navigation key right to scroll to the In phone tab. |
| 5. | Scroll to the desired folder and file. |
| 7. | Scroll to and select Manage file. |
| 8. | Scroll to and select Move. |
| 9. | Scroll to and select Memory card. |
| 10. | Scroll to and select the desired folder on the phone. |
Setting the default memory location
When the memory card is installed, it becomes the default storage location.
Viewing memory
To view memory on a memory card, perform the following steps:
| 1. | At the main screen, select Menu. |
| 2. | Scroll to and select Organizer. |
| 3. | Scroll to and select File Manager. |
| 4. | Scroll to and select Pictures or Video. |
| 6. | Scroll to and select Memory status. |
| 7. | View the amount of free and used memory on the memory card. |
