Accessing files on a card using a computer

To access files on a memory card from a computer, perform the following steps:
1. Connect the device to your computer using the USB cable.
2. At the Home screen, touch the top of the screen and drag down to display the notifications window.
3. Touch USB connected.

4. Touch Mount.

NOTE: The Removable Disk window appears on your computer screen.
5. Click Open folder to view files using Windows Explorer and click OK.
6. When you are done accessing files, click the Safely Remove Hardware icon.
7. Click Safely remove Mass Storage Device.
8. Disconnect the device from the computer.

To access files on a memory card using the phone, perform the following steps:
1. At the Home screen, touch the Application button.
2. Touch the Gallery icon.
3. Touch Camera pictures or Camera videos.
4. Touch the file to view it.

Deleting files on a card using the computer

To delete files on a memory card using the computer, perform the following steps:
1. Connect the device to your computer using the USB cable.
2. At the Home screen, touch the top of the screen and drag down to display the notifications window.
3. Touch USB connected.

NOTE: The Removable Disk window appears on your computer screen.
5. Click Open folder to view files using Windows Explorer and click OK.
6. Click Open folder to view files using Windows Explorer and click OK.
7. Click the file that you want to delete.
8. Press the Delete key on the computer keyboard.
9. When you are done deleting files, click the Safely Remove Hardware icon.
10. Click Safely remove Mass Storage Device.
11. Disconnect the device from the computer.

Deleting files on a card using the phone

To delete files on a memory card using the phone, perform the following steps:
1. At the Home screen, touch the Application button.
2. Touch the Gallery icon.
3. Touch Camera pictures or Camera videos.
4. Touch and hold the file that you wish to delete.
5. Touch Delete.
6. Touch OK.

Inserting a memory card

To insert a memory card, perform the following steps:
1. Push down on the top left corner of the back cover toward the base of the device.
2. Lift the back cover off the device.

3. Insert the memory card with gold contacts facing down.
4. Push in the memory card until it clicks into place.

5. Replace the back cover and push up on the cover toward the top of the device.
6. Click the back cover into place.

Removing a memory card

To remove a memory card, perform the following steps:
1. Push down on the top left corner of the back cover toward the base of the device.
2. Lift the back cover off the device.
3. Push in the memory card until it releases from the slot.
4. Remove the memory card.
5. Replace the back cover and push up on the cover toward the top of the device.
6. Click the back cover into place.

Moving files from a card to the computer

To move files from a memory card to a computer using a USB cable, perform the following steps:
1. Connect the device to your computer using the USB cable.
2. At the Home screen, touch the top of the screen and drag down to display the notifications window.
3. Touch USB connected.

4. Touch Mount.

NOTE: The Removable Disk window appears on your computer screen.
5. Click Open folder to view files using Windows Explorer and click OK.
6. Copy and paste or drag and drop the file to a folder on your computer.
7. When you are done moving files, click the Safely Remove Hardware icon.
8. Click Safely remove Mass Storage Device.
9. Disconnect the phone from the computer.

Moving files from a computer to the card

To move files from a computer to a memory card using a USB cable, perform the following steps:
1. Connect the device to your computer using the USB cable.
2. At the Home screen, touch the top of the screen and drag down to display the notifications window.
3. Touch USB connected.

4. Touch Mount.

NOTE: The Removable Disk window appears on your computer screen.
5. Click Open folder to view files using Windows Explorer and click OK.
6. Copy and paste or drag and drop a file from your computer to a folder on your phone.
7. When you are done moving files, click the Safely Remove Hardware icon.
8. Click Safely remove Mass Storage Device.
9. Click Safely remove Mass Storage Device.
10. Disconnect the device from the computer.
NOTE: All media saves to the memory card. All applications from the Android Marketplace save to the device memory.

Viewing memory

To view the amount of free and used space on a memory card, perform the following steps:
1. At the Home screen, press the Menu key.
2. Touch Settings.
3. Touch and slide the menu upward and touch SD card & device storage.
4. Under SD card or Internal Device Storage, view Available space.
