Accessing files


On a memory card using the computer

To access files on a memory card using the computer, perform the following steps:
1. At the main screen, tap Menu.
2. Tap Settings.
3. Tap Phone settings.
4. Tap USB settings.
5. Tap Mass storage.
NOTE: You will see a blue circle in the radio button next to the selected item.
6. Tap Save.
7. Plug the USB cable into your computer’s USB port.
8. Plug the other end of the USB cable into your phone.
NOTE: You may need to put the phone in Idle Mode. Press the red End key to return to the main screen.
9. On your computer, in the Removable disk window, highlight Open folder to view files using Windows Explorer.

10. Click OK.
NOTE: If this dialogue box does not appear, double-click My Computer to open an Explorer window and then double-click Removable disk.

On a memory card using the phone

To access files on a memory card using the phone, perform the following steps:
1. At the main screen, tap Menu.
2. Tap Applications.
3. Tap Files.
4. Tap the drop-down menu at the top of the screen.
5. Tap Memory card.

Deleting files


On a memory card using the computer

To delete files on a memory card using another computer, perform the following steps:
NOTE: The phone must be unlocked for the computer to recognize the memory card.
1. At the main screen, tap Menu.
2. Tap Settings.
3. Tap Phone settings.
4. Tap USB settings.
5. Tap Mass storage.
NOTE: You will see a blue circle in the radio button next to the selected item.
6. Tap Save.
7. Plug the USB cable into your computer’s USB port.
8. Plug the other end of the USB cable into your phone.
NOTE: You may need to put the phone in Idle Mode. Press the red End key to return to the main screen.
9. On your computer, in the Removable disk window, highlight Open folder to view files using Windows Explorer.

10. Click OK.
NOTE: If this dialogue box does not appear, double-click My Computer to open an Explorer window and then double-click Removable disk.
11. Navigate to the desired files on your memory card.
12. Press the Delete key on your computer’s keyboard.
13. Click Yes to confirm.

On a memory card using the phone

To delete files on a memory card using the phone, perform the following steps:
1. At the main screen, tap Menu.
2. Tap Applications.
3. Tap Files.
4. Tap the drop-down menu at the top of the screen.
5. Tap Memory card.
6. Tap Images, Videos, or Sounds.
7. Navigate to the folder containing the file you want to delete.
8. Tap Delete.
9. Tap the files you want to delete.
NOTE: You will see a check in the check box next to the selected files.
10. Tap Delete.

Inserting or removing a card


Inserting a card

To insert a card, perform the following steps:
1. Remove the battery cover by sliding the back portion of the cover up and away.

3. Gently lift the edge of the memory card cover up.

4. To insert the memory card, slide the memory card into the memory card slot with the golden contacts facing up.
5. Push the memory card into the slot until it clicks into place.
6. Close and lock the memory card cover.
7. Replace the battery.

Removing a card

To remove a card, perform the following steps:
1. Remove the battery cover by sliding the back portion of the cover up and away.

3. Lift the edge of the memory card cover up.

4. To remove the memory card, push the memory card into the memory card slot until it releases.
5. Slide the memory card from the memory card slot.
6. Close and lock the memory card cover.
7. Replace the battery.

Moving files

To move files from the card to the computer, perform the following steps:
NOTE: The phone must be unlocked for the computer to recognize the memory card.
1. At the main screen, tap Menu.
2. Tap Settings.

5. Tap Mass storage.

9. On your computer, highlight Open folder to view files using Windows Explorer.

10. Click OK.
NOTE: If this dialogue box does not appear, double-click My Computer to open an Explorer window and then double-click MEMORY CARD.
11. Navigate to the desired file on your phone.
12. Right-click your mouse on the file.
13. Click Cut.
14. Navigate to the desired location on your computer.
15. Right-click your mouse.
16. Click Paste.
IMPORTANT: Do not disconnect the USB during the file transfer.
17. When you are finished, click the Safely Remove Hardware icon in your computer taskbar.
18. Click Safely Remove USB Mass Storage Device.

Moving files from the card to the phone

To move files from the card to the phone, perform the following steps:
1. At the main screen, tap Menu.
2. Tap Applications.
3. Tap Files.
4. Tap the drop-down menu at the top of the screen.
5. Tap Memory card.
6. Tap Images, Videos, or Sounds.
7. Navigate to the folder containing the file you want to move.
8. Tap Manage.
9. Tap Move.
10. Tap the files you want to move.
NOTE: You will see a check in the check box next to the selected files.
11. Tap Move.
12. Tap Phone.
13. Navigate to the folder containing the file you want to move the files into.
14. Tap Move here.

Moving files from the computer to the card

To move files from the computer to the card, perform the following steps:

1. On your phone, on the main screen, tap Menu.
2. Tap Settings.
3. Tap Phone settings.

Setting the default memory location

To set the default memory location, perform the following steps:
1. At the main screen, tap Menu.
2. Tap Settings.
3. Touch and slide the menu upward.
4. Tap Application settings.
5. Tap Save new contacts to.
6. Tap Phone, SIM, or Always ask.
NOTE: You will see a check in the check box next to the selected files.
7. Tap Save.
