Accessing the Internet or entering a URL

To access the Internet or enter a URL, perform the following steps:
1. At the Home screen, tap the Browser icon.
2. Press the Menu key.
3. Tap Go.
4. Tap Type Web address to display the on-screen keyboard.
NOTE: You can also open the physical keyboard to enter text.
5. Enter the URL of the Web site.
6. Tap Go.

Adding a browser bookmark

To add a browser bookmark, perform the following steps:
1. At the Home screen, tap the Browser icon.
2. Navigate to the page that you want to bookmark.
3. Press the Menu key.
4. Tap Bookmarks.
5. Tap Add bookmark....
6. Tap Name to display the on-screen keyboard.
7. If desired, enter a new name.
8. Tap OK.

Adjusting the browser settings (clearing cache, viewing history)

To adjust the browser settings, perform the following steps:
1. At the Home screen, tap the Browser icon.
2. Press the Menu key.
3. Tap More.
4. Tap Settings.
5. Tap and slide the menu upward.
6. Tap Clear cache or Clear History.
NOTE: Viewing the browser history is not supported.

Copying and pasting text

To copy and paste text in the Web browser, perform the following steps:
1. At the Home screen, tap the Browser icon.
2. Navigate to the text that you wish to copy.
NOTE: Zoom out before selecting text.
3. Press the Menu key.
4. Tap More.
5. Tap Select text.
6. Touch and slide over the text you wish to copy. The text highlights in pink.
7. Touch and hold a text field where you want to paste the text.
8. Tap Paste.

Going forward or back a page

To go forward or back a page, perform one of the following:
To go forward, from a Web page, select one of these options:
  • Tap a link or scroll to a link and press the trackball.
  • Press the Menu key and tap Forward.
To go back, from a Web page, press the Back key.

To open a new window, refer to the following links:

To open a new browser window, perform the following steps:
1. At the Home screen, tap the Browser icon.
2. Press the Menu key.
3. Tap New window.

Switching windows

To switch windows, perform the following steps:
1. At the Web browser, press the Menu key.
2. Tap Windows.
3. Tap the desired window.

Turning JavaScript settings on and off

To turn the JavaScript settings on and off, perform the following steps:
1. At the Home screen, tap the Browser icon.
2. Press the Menu key.
3. Tap More.
4. Tap Settings.
5. Touch and slide the menu upward.
6. Tap Enable JavaScript to select or clear the check box.

Searching within a Web page

To search within a Web page, perform the following steps:
1. At the Home screen, tap the Browser icon.
2. Navigate to the page you want to search.
3. Press the Menu key.
4. Tap More.
5. Tap Find on page.
6. Tap Find on page to display the on-screen keyboard..
NOTE: You can also open the physical keyboard to enter text.
7. Enter the search words.
8. Tap Done.
NOTE: The matching words are highlighted in green on the Web page.
9. Tap the Right or Left arrow to move to the next matching word.
10. Tap the X icon to close the search box.

To zoom in or out of a Web page, refer to the following links:

Magnifying a section of the page

To magnify a section of the page, perform the following steps:
1. At the Home screen, tap the Browser icon.
2. Navigate to the desired Web page.
3. Press the trackball twice.
NOTE: The Web page zooms out to fit the screen and the magnifying window appears.
4. Touch and slide the magnifying window to a part of the screen that you wish to magnify.
5. Release your finger.

Zooming out to view the full page

To zoom out to view the full page, perform the following steps:
1. At the Home screen, tap the Browser icon.
2. Touch and slide your finger in any direction on the Web page. The zoom controls appear.
3. Touch the plus (+) magnifier or the minus () magnifier to zoom in and out.
4. Tap the 1x icon to return the Web page to its actual size.
