Changing the SIM card PIN code

To change the SIM card PIN code, perform the following steps:
1. At the Jump screen, press the Menu key.
2. Select Settings, then SIM Center, and then press the trackball.
3. Roll to and select Change SIM PIN….
NOTE: You will need to enable the SIM card PIN code before changing it. Roll to Enable SIM PIN, and then type the PIN code. The default PIN code is 1234.
4. At Old SIM PIN, type the old SIM card code.
5. At New SIM PIN, type the new SIM card code.
6. At Confirm, type the new SIM card code again.
7. Roll to Submit, and then press the trackball.

Enabling the SIM card lock

NOTE: The SIM card PIN code is used to protect the SIM card from being used in other phones. When you enable the SIM card PIN code, the phone will prompt you to type the code after turning it on.
To enable the SIM card, perform the following steps:
1. At the Jump screen, press the Menu key.
2. Select Settings, then SIM Center, and then press the trackball.
3. Roll to Enable SIM Lock…, and then press the trackball.
4. Type your SIM card code.
NOTE: The default SIM card code is 1234.
5. Roll to Enable, and then press the trackball.

Enabling the phone lock

NOTE: With phone lock enabled, the phone will lock any time it is turned off, and you will need to type a password when you turn the phone back on.
To enable the phone lock, perform the following steps:
1. At the Jump screen, press the Menu key.
2. Select Settings, then Key Guard & Security, and then press the trackball.
3. Roll to Turn On Privacy, and then press the trackball.
4. Type a three digit code.
5. Type the three digit code again to verify.
6. Roll to OK, and then press the trackball.

Enabling the keypad lock

NOTE: Locking the keypad will ensure accidental key presses have no effect on the phone. No password is required to unlock the keypad.
To enable the keypad lock, perform the following steps:
1. At the Jump screen, press the Menu key.
2. Select Settings, then Key Guard & Security, and then press the trackball.
3. Roll to Guard after [X] minutes, and then press the trackball.
4. Roll to one of the following options: Guard after 1 minute, Guard after 2 minutes, Guard after 5 minutes, or Guard after 15 minutes, and then press the trackball.
5. If desired, roll to the Key Guard image icon and change the key guard image.
6. If desired, roll to Key guard display message and type a new message.
7. Press the Done key.
NOTE: To activate the key guard at any time, press and hold the Done key.
NOTE: To unlock the device, press the Menu key and the Done key simultaneously.
