Setting up

You will need an MSN® account to use instant messaging. To set up an account, go to messenger.msn.com.

Signing in

To sign in, perform the following steps:
1. At the Jump screen, roll to and select Instant Messaging.
2. Select Live Messenger.
3. Type your e-mail address and password.
NOTE: Passwords are case sensitive.
4. Roll to Save password, and then press the trackball to place a check in the check box.
5. Select OK to the saving password warning.
6. Roll to and select Sign In.
7. Roll to and select I Accept to the terms of use.

Signing out

To sign out, perform the following steps:
1. At the contact list, press the Menu key.
2. Roll to and select Sign Out.

Adding a contact

To add a contact, perform the following steps:
1. At the contact list, press the Menu key.
2. Select New Contact...
3. Type the contact's e-mail address.
4. Roll to and select Done.

Deleting a contact

To delete a contact, perform the following steps:
1. At the contact list, roll to the contact that you want to delete.
2. Press the Menu key and select Discard.
3. Roll to and select Discard again.

Sending a message to a contact

To send a message to a contact, perform the following steps:
1. At the contact list, roll to and select a contact.
2. Type your message and press the trackball.

Blocking a contact

To block a contact, perform the following steps:
1. At the contact list, roll to the contact and press the Menu key.
2. Roll to and select Block.

Setting the Away status

To set the Away status, perform the following steps:
1. At the contact list, press the Menu key.
2. Roll to and select Status, and then Away.
