
Memory & Memory Card (T-Mobile Shadow™)
Viewing available memory
To view memory, perform the following steps:
| 1. | At the Home screen, select Start, and then select Task Manager. |
| 2. | Select Menu, and then select System Info to view memory on the phone and on the memory card (if installed). |
Inserting the memory card
To insert the memory card, perform the following steps:
| 1. | Swing open the memory card cover. |
| 2. | With the gold contacts on the card facing down, insert the memory card into the memory card slot. |
| 3. | Push on the memory card until it clicks into place. |
| 4. | Swing the memory card cover closed. |
Removing the memory card
IMPORTANT: Do not remove the memory card when it is being accessed. Removing the card in the middle of an operation may damage the memory card, the phone, and the data stored on the card.
To remove the memory card, perform the following steps:
| 1. | Verify that no applications are accessing the memory card. |
| 2. | Swing open the memory card cover. |
| 3. | Push on the memory card until it ejects from the phone. |
| 4. | Remove the memory card from the phone. |
| 5. | Swing the memory card cover closed. |
Accessing files on the memory card using the phone
To access files on the memory card using the phone, perform the following steps:
| 1. | At the Home screen, select Start, and then select File Explorer. |
NOTE: You should be in the My Documents folder.
| 2. | Select Menu, and then select Storage Card. |
Deleting files on the memory card using the phone
To delete files on the memory card using the phone, perform the following steps:
| 1. | At the Home screen, select Start, and then select File Explorer. |
NOTE: You should be in the My Documents folder.
| 2. | Select Menu, and then select Storage Card. |
| 3. | Locate the file that you want to delete. |
| 4. | Select Menu, select Edit, and then select Delete. |
| 5. | Select Yes to confirm. |
Copying files between the computer and the phone
To copy files between the computer and the phone, perform the following steps:
| 1. | Plug the USB cable into the sync connector port on the phone. |
| 2. | Plug the other end of the USB cable into a USB port on your computer. |
| 3. | On your computer, within ActiveSync, click Explore. |
| 4. | On your computer, locate the file that you want to copy to the phone. |
| 5. | Right-click the file and click Copy. |
| 6. | Navigate to the folder on your phone, right-click the mouse and click Paste. |
Copying music and assigning it as a ringtone
Customers can copy music to the My Ringtones folder and pictures to the My Pictures folder on the phone, and then set music files (MP3 for example) as ringtones and pictures as wallpapers.
If customers copy music files to the My Music folder and want to set music as a ringtone, then they must first copy the file to the My Ringtones folder and then assign it as a ringtone.
To copy music and assign it as a ringtone, perform the following steps:
| 1. | On the device, select Start, select File Explorer, and then select My Music. |
| 2. | Highlight the music file that will be used as a ringtone (do not open the file) and select Menu, select Edit, and then select Copy. |
| 3. | Select Menu, select My Documents, and then select My Ringtones. |
| 4. | Select Menu, select Edit, and then select Paste. |
| 5. | To go back to the Home screen, press the red End key. |
| 6. | Select Start, select Settings, and then select Sounds. |
| 7. | At Ring tone, press the Center Select key. |
| 8. | Scroll to the file and select Done. |
| 9. | Select Done, and then select Done again, to get back to the Menu screen. |
Copying files from the computer to the memory card
To copy files from the computer to the memory card, perform the following steps:
| 1. | Plug the USB cable into the sync connector port on the phone. |
| 2. | Plug the other end of the USB cable into a USB port on your computer. |
| 3. | On your computer, within ActiveSync, click Explore. |
| 4. | On your computer, locate the file (or folder) that you want to copy. |
| 5. | Right-click the file and click Copy. |
| 6. | Navigate to and double-click My Windows Mobile-Based Device. |
| 7. | Double-click the Storage Card folder. |
| 8. | Navigate to where you want to save the file, right-click the mouse and click Paste. |
Copying files from the memory card to the phone
To copy files from the memory card to the phone, perform the following steps:
| 1. | At the Home screen, select Start, and then select File Explorer. |
NOTE: You should be in the My Documents folder.
| 2. | Select Menu, and then select Storage Card. |
| 3. | Locate the file on the memory card. |
| 4. | Select Menu, select Edit, and then select Copy. |
| 5. | Navigate to where you want to move the file on the phone. |
| 6. | Select Menu, select Edit, and then select Paste. |
