Accessing the phone book

To access the phone book, at the Jump screen, roll to and select Address Book.

Adding a contact to the phone book

NOTE: Contacts from a computer running Outlook can be exported to the Sidekick LX, using Intellisync. Intellisync can be downloaded from My T-Mobile and the Desktop Interface.
To add a contact to the phone book, perform the following steps:
1. At the Jump screen, roll to and select Address Book.
2. Press the Menu key, and select New Contact.
3. Type the contact's first, middle, and last name.
4. Roll to and select Done.
5. Roll to Phone, and select Add.
6. Roll to Label, and select Unlabeled.
7. Select one of the following labels:
  • Fax
  • Home
  • Mobile
  • Personal
  • Work
8. At Number, type the contact’s phone number.
9. Roll to and select Done.

Adding a contact to the SIM card

NOTE: To add contacts to the SIM card, you must first set the View option to SIM Card.
To add a contact to the SIM card, perform the following steps:
1. At the Jump screen, roll to and select Address Book.
2. Press the Menu key.
3. Roll to and select View and then SIM Card.
4. Press the Menu key.
5. Select New Contact.
6. Type the contact’s name and number.
7. Roll to and select Done to save.

Copying a contact from the SIM card to the device

To copy a contact from the SIM card to the device, perform the following steps:
1. At the Jump screen, roll to and select Address Book.
2. Press the Menu key.
3. Roll to and select View and then SIM Card.
4. Roll to the contact you want to copy, and press the Menu key.
5. Roll to and select Copy to Device.
6. Edit fields as desired.
7. Roll to and select Done.

To copy a contact from the device to the SIM card, perform the following steps:
1. At the Jump screen, roll to and select Address Book.
2. Press the Menu key.
3. Roll to the contact you want to copy, and press the Menu key.
4. Roll to and select Copy to SIM Card.
5. Edit fields as desired.
6. Roll to and select Done.

Assigning speed dial to a contact

To assign speed dial to a contact, perform the following steps:
1. At the Jump screen, roll to and select Phone.
2. At Shortcut Key, press the trackball.
3. Roll to and select the desired shortcut key.
4. At Name, type the name for the contact.
5. At Number, type the number for the contact.
6. Roll to and select Done.

Creating a category

To create a category, perform the following steps:
1. At the Jump screen, roll to and select Address Book.
2. Press the Menu key.
3. Select Settings and then Category.
4. Press the Menu key, and select New Category.
5. Type the name of the category.
6. Select Done.

Assigning a contact to a caller group

To assign a contact to a caller group, perform the following steps:
1. At the Jump screen, roll to and select Address Book.
2. Roll to the desired contact, and press the Menu key.
3. Roll to and select Edit Contact.
4. Roll to Category, and press the trackball.
5. Roll to and select the desired category.
6. Roll to and select Done.
