Memory card (Sidekick® LX)
Inserting the memory card
NOTE: It is not necessary to remove the battery to insert or remove the memory card (only the battery cover).
To insert the memory card, perform the following steps:
| 1. | Press down on the raised bar on the back cover and slide the cover away. |
| 2. | Insert the memory card into the memory card slot with the card's gold contacts facing down. |
| 3. | Push the memory card into the memory card slot until it clicks into place and replace the back cover. |
Removing the memory card
IMPORTANT: Do not remove the memory card when it is being accessed. Removing the card in the middle of an operation may damage the memory card, the phone, and the data stored on the card.
To remove the memory card, perform the following steps:
| 1. | Press down on the raised bar on the back cover and slide the cover away. |
| 2. | Push in the memory card into the memory card slot until it clicks and then releases. |
| 3. | Grasp the end of the memory card and pull it out of the memory card slot and replace the battery cover. |
Accessing files
On the card using the phone
To access files on the card using the phone, perform the following steps:
| 1. | At the Jump screen, roll to and select Camera. |
| 2. | Select Memory Card Album. |
On the card using the computer
To access files on the card using the computer, perform the following steps:
| 1. | Connect the device to your computer using the USB cable that came with your device. |
| 2. | On your computer, click on the Removable Disk. |
| 3. | Click on the desired folder to access your files. |
Deleting files
On the card using the phone
To delete files on the card using the phone, perform the following steps:
| 1. | At the Jump screen, roll to and select Camera. |
| 2. | Select Memory Card Album. |
| 3. | Roll to the photo that you want to delete. |
| 4. | Press the Menu key and select Discard Photo. |
| 5. | Roll to and select Discard. |
On the card using the computer
To delete files on the card using the computer, perform the following steps:
| 1. | Connect the device to your computer using the USB cable that came with your device. |
| 2. | On your computer, click on the Removable Disk. |
| 3. | Select the desired folder. |
| 4. | Select the file you want to delete and press the Delete key on your computer keyboard. |
Moving files
From the computer to the card
To move files from the computer to the card, perform the following steps:
| 1. | Connect your phone to your computer using the USB cable that came with your phone. |
| 2. | On your computer, click on the Removable Disk. |
| 3. | Select the desired folder. |
| 4. | Drag and drop files into the desired folder. |
| 5. | When the files have finished moving, safely disconnect your phone from your computer. |
NOTE: On a Windows personal computer, right-click the Safely Remove Hardware icon in the system tray at the bottom of your computer screen and then select USB Mass Storage Device.
NOTE: On a Macintosh, select and drag the Removable Disk icon to the Trash.
From the card to the phone
To move files from the card to the phone, perform the following steps:
| 1. | At the Jump screen, roll to and select Camera. |
| 2. | Select Memory Card Album. |
| 3. | Roll to and select the desired image. |
| 4. | Press the Menu key. |
| 5. | Select Move Photo, and then Device Album. |
From the phone to the card
To move files from the phone to the card, perform the following steps:
| 1. | At the Jump screen, roll to and select Camera. |
| 2. | Roll to and select Device Album. |
| 3. | Roll to and select the desired image. |
| 4. | Press the Menu key. |
| 5. | Select Move Photo, and then Device Album. |
