Enable or disable SSID broadcast (T-Mobile wireless router by Linksys)
If you set a wireless router to broadcast the network name, or service set identifier (SSID), other wireless devices, such as T-Mobile HotSpot-enabled phones, will see the network when they scan for available networks. If the router’s SSID is not broadcast, the SSID is hidden from scans. When the SSID broadcast is disabled, network details must be entered manually into the phone in order to connect to the wireless router.
To enable or disable SSID broadcast, perform the following steps:
1. Log in to the administrative Web site for the router.
2. From the row of links, select Wireless, and then select Basic Wireless Settings.
3. At Wireless SSID Broadcast, click to select Enable or Disable.
NOTE: The default SSID broadcast setting is Enable. To prevent the SSID from being visible to scans, select Disable.
