Camera & Picture and Video Messaging (Samsung t709)
Settings and notes
You must originate a picture message to set up your Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card on the network for picture messaging. You will not be able to receive a picture message until you have sent one.
When sending a picture message to another phone, that phone must be able to receive the picture message. If the phone cannot receive the picture message, then it will display a text message with instructions to log in to the My Album site to view the picture.
Taking pictures
To take pictures, perform the following steps:
| 1. | Press the Camera  key on the right side of the phone. |
| 2. | Frame the subject and press the center OK key. |
| 3. | Press the End key to exit, select Options for further choices, or select Yes to save the picture to My Album. |
Accessing pictures
To access pictures, perform the following steps:
| 1. | At the main screen, select Menu. |
| 2. | Scroll to and select Fun & Apps. |
| 3. | Scroll to and select Camera. |
| 4. | Scroll to and select My photos. |
| 5. | Scroll to the image and select Options and then View. |
Deleting pictures
To delete pictures, perform the following steps:
| 1. | At the main screen, select Menu. |
| 2. | Scroll to and select Fun & Apps. |
| 3. | Scroll to and select Camera. |
| 4. | Scroll to and select My photos. |
| 5. | Scroll to the image and select Options. |
| 6. | Scroll to and select Delete. |
| 7. | If you select Selected, go to Step 8. If you select Multiple, go to Step 9. |
| 8. | Select Yes to confirm. |
| 9. | Select All or scroll to and select which photos you want to delete. Press the center OK key to place or remove checks in the checkboxes. |
| 11. | If you wish to delete all photos, even those that have been locked or associated with caller IDs or wallpaper, then press the center OK key to select the corresponding boxes. If you wish to keep certain photos, remove the checks in the checkboxes. |

Taking and sending a picture message
Pictures are stored at Menu > Fun & Apps > Camera > My photos.
To take and send a picture message, perform the following steps:
| 1. | Press and hold the Camera key on the right side of the phone. |
| 2. | Frame the subject and press the center OK key. |
| 3. | Select Options and then Send to. |
| 4. | Select one of the following: |
- Recent Log: Select a contact.
- Phonebook: Select a contact.
- Phone number or Email address: Type the number or e-mail address.
- My Album: Go to the next step.
NOTE: First time users of My Album will receive a text message. To view pictures, go to
My Album. Click
Register here on the home page and follow the instructions to register for My Album.
| 5. | Select Options and then Send. |
Sending a saved picture
To send a saved picture, perform the following steps:
| 1. | At the main screen, select Menu. |
| 5. | Scroll to the photo you want to send. |
| 6. | Select Options, and then select Send. |
| 7. | Scroll to Message, select Options and then select Add. |
| 8. | Type the message. You can also add a subject if you wish. |
| 9. | Select Options and then Save. |
| 11. | Select one of the following: |
- Recent Log: Select a contact.
- Phonebook: Select a contact.
- Phone number or Email address: Type the number or e-mail address.
- My Album: Go to the next step.
| 12. | Select Options and then Send. |
Recording videos
Videos are stored at Menu > Fun & Apps > Camera > My Videos by default.
To record videos, perform the following steps:
| 1. | Press the Camera key on the right side of the phone. |
| 2. | Scroll to and select Record video. |
| 3. | Frame the subject and press the center OK key or the Camera key to begin recording. |
NOTE: Press the center OK key to pause or start.
| 4. | Press the Camera key or the Right Soft  key to stop recording. |
Accessing videos
To access videos, perform the following steps:
| 1. | At the main screen, select Menu. |
| 2. | Scroll to and select Fun & Apps. |
| 3. | Scroll to and select Camera. |
| 4. | Scroll to and select My videos. |
| 5. | Scroll to the video and press the center OK key to select it. |
Deleting videos
To delete videos, perform the following steps:
| 1. | At the main screen, select Menu. |
| 2. | Scroll to and select Fun & Apps. |
| 3. | Scroll to and select Camera. |
| 4. | Scroll to and select My videos. |
| 5. | Scroll to the video and select Options. |
| 6. | Scroll to and select Delete. |
| 7. | If you select Selected, go to Step 8. If you select Multiple, go to Step 9. |
| 8. | Select Yes to confirm. |
| 9. | Select All or scroll to and select which videos you want to delete. Press the center OK key to place or remove checks in the checkboxes. |
| 11. | If you wish to delete all videos, even those that have been locked or associated with caller IDs, then select With protected items and With caller ID items. If you wish to keep protected videos or caller ID items, then press the OK key to remove the checks in the checkboxes. |
TIPS
- At the main screen, press the Camera key to access the camera menu.
- At the main screen, press and hold the Camera key or press the Up Navigation key to access the camera and camcorder function directly. The function you used previously remains the default setting until the phone is powered off.
- To switch between Camera and Video Recorder when in camera mode, press the 1 key.
- While in video mode, press the Left Soft
key for various recording and setting options. Select Camcorder short cuts to view a diagram of the various keys that serve as short cuts to different settings. - Press the Left and Right Navigation keys to zoom in and out.
- Press the Up and Down Navigation keys to adjust the image brightness.
- Press the Up Volume ▲ key to flip the image vertically.
- Press the Down Volume ▼ key to show the mirror image.

| 6. | Type a subject and a message, if you wish. |

| 7. | When finished, select Send. |

Reading picture messages
When you receive a new MMS message, an envelope icon appears on your external and internal displays. To view, slide open the phone and select View.
Deleting picture messages
To delete pictures messages, perform the following steps:
| 1. | At the main screen, select Menu. |
| 3. | Scroll to and select Inbox. |
| 4. | Scroll to the message to delete. |
| 5. | Select Options, then Delete, and then Selected. |
