Introducing myFaves

T-Mobile myFaves helps you stay connected to the people who matter most in your life. Simply choose any five numbers you call most often, on any network, and have them displayed on your phone’s main screen. When you subscribe to the service, you can take advantage of the following:
  • Unlimited calling to any five numbers, on any network—even landlines
  • One-touch calling, text messaging, and photo sharing
  • No domestic roaming or domestic long-distance charges
NOTE: Numbers can be any numbers on any network or wirelines and must be US domestic numbers (not including toll-free or 900 numbers).

With myFaves, you can:

  • Change each of your myFaves contacts up to once per calendar month
  • Personalize your myFaves contacts with your favorite pictures or downloadable icons
  • Make changes on your phone or on the Web

To add a myFaves contact, refer to the following links:

Adding a new contact

NOTE: Contact names and icons may be changed at any time. Each contact number may be changed once per calendar month.
To add a new contact, perform the following steps:
1. At the main screen, scroll to an unassigned circle and press the Center Select key.
2. Select Create New.
3. At Name, enter the contact’s name, and then select OK.
4. At Number, enter the phone number, and then select OK.

Assigning an icon to the contact

To assign an icon to the contact, perform the following steps:
1. At Icon, select Change.
2. Select one of the following options:
  • Take Picture to open the camera. Frame the subject and select Capture. Press the Center Select key, and then select Yes.
  • My Photos to use a picture you have already taken. Press the Up or Down Navigation key to scroll to the desired picture. Select the image, and then select Yes.
  • My Icons to use a pre-loaded icon. Scroll to and select the icon.
  • Get More Icons to go to t-zones® and download new icons. Scroll to and select the icon category and icon. Select Accept, and then select Yes.

Assigning a ringtone to the contact

To assign a ringtone to the contact, perform the following steps:
1. At Ringtone, select Change.
2. Scroll to and select the ringtone. Select None to use the ring style set for the phone.
3. Select Save and then Yes to confirm saving your contact.
NOTE: An hourglass displays in the circle while the contact is added to the phone book. You can use your phone during this time. Once the contact is added, you will receive a confirmation and the hourglass is replaced by your new contact.
NOTE: Your myFaves contacts are automatically added to your phone book and marked with the myFaves icon.

Adding a contact from the phone book

To add a contact from the phone book, perform the following steps:
1. At the main screen, scroll to an unassigned circle and press the Center Select key.
2. Scroll to and select Get From Phonebook.
3. Scroll to and select the contact. You can assign ringtones and icons using the steps above.
4. Select Save and then Yes to confirm saving your contact.
NOTE: An hourglass displays in the circle while the contact is added to the phone book. You can use your phone during this time. Once the contact is added, you will receive a confirmation and the hourglass is replaced by your new contact.
NOTE: Your myFaves contacts in your phone book are marked with the myFaves icon.

Downloading icons

To download icons, perform the following steps:
1. At the main screen, scroll to the contact and press the Center Select key.
2. Scroll to and select Options.
3. Select Edit Profile.
4. Scroll to Icon and select Change.
5. Scroll to and select Get More Icons.
6. Scroll to and select the icon category and icon.
7. Select Accept and then Yes.
8. Select Save.

Calling a myFaves contact

To call a myFaves contact, perform the following steps:
1. At the main screen, scroll to the myFaves contact.
2. Press the green Send key.

Sending a text message

To send a text message to a myFaves contact, perform the following steps:
1. At the main screen, scroll to the myFaves contact and press the Center Select key.
2. Scroll to and select Send message.
3. Enter your message, and then select Send.
4. Select Send.

Sending a picture message

To send a picture message to a myFaves contact, perform the following steps:
1. At the main screen, scroll to the myFaves contact and press the Center Select key.
2. Scroll to and select Share Picture.
3. Select one of the following options:
  • Take Picture: Take a new picture with the camera.
  • My Photos: Select a photo you have already taken.
  • My Icons: Use a pre-loaded myFaves icon.
4. Scroll to and select the desired icon or image.
5. Enter your message, and then select Send.

Sending a Voice Note

To send a Voice Note to a myFaves contact, perform the following steps:
1. At the main screen, scroll to the myFaves contact and press the Center Select key.
2. Scroll to and select Send Voice Note.
3. Select Record and begin speaking.
4. Select Stop when finished speaking.
5. Select Send.

Editing contact information

To edit contact information, perform the following steps:
1. At the main screen, scroll to the myFaves contact and press the Center Select key.
2. Scroll to and select Options.
3. Select Edit profile.
4. Scroll to and enter a new name and number in the appropriate fields.
5. Select Save.
NOTE: If you changed the phone number for the contact, the myFaves circle displays an hourglass while the contact is updated on the network. You can use your phone while you wait. Once your contact is added, you will receive a confirmation and the hourglass on your screen is replaced by your new contact.
If a phone number change is not accepted, you will receive an error message explaining why the change cannot be made.

Changing the icon

To change the icon for a myFaves contact, perform the following steps:
1. At the main screen, scroll to the myFaves contact and press the Center Select key.
2. Scroll to Icon and select Change.
3. Select one of the following options:
  • Take Picture: Take a new picture with the camera.
  • My Photos: Select a photo you have already taken.
  • My Icons: Use a pre-loaded myFaves icon.
4. Scroll to and select the desired icon or image.
NOTE: If you want to create an icon from a picture message you have already received, you must first open the message and save the image to your phone.
5. Select Save.

Changing the ringtone

To change the ringtone for a myFaves contact, perform the following steps:
1. At the main screen, scroll to the myFaves contact and press the Center Select key.
2. Scroll to Ringtone and select Change.
3. Scroll to and select the Ringer ID you want to use. Select None to use the ringtone set for the phone.
4. Select Save.

Changing the order of contact

To change the order of a contact, perform the following steps:
1. At the main screen, scroll to the myFaves contact you want to move and press the Center Select key.
2. Scroll to and select Options.
3. Scroll to and select Change Order.
4. Press the Left Navigation key or the Right Navigation key until the myFaves contact is in the desired position.
5. When finished, select Done.

Replacing a contact

To replace a myFaves contact, perform the following steps:
1. At the main screen, scroll to the myFaves contact and press the Center Select key.
2. Scroll to and select Options.
3. Scroll to and select Replace Contact.
4. Select Create New or Get From Phonebook.
5. Either enter the new contact info or, if you are adding a contact from the phone book, scroll to and select the contact you want to add.
NOTE: You can change the icon and ringtone, if desired.
6. Select Save.
NOTE: The myFaves circle displays an hourglass while the contact is updated on the network. You can use your phone while you wait. Once your contact is added, you will receive a confirmation and the hourglass on your screen is replaced by your new contact.

If the change is not accepted, you will receive an error message explaining why the change cannot be made.

Taking a picture and assigning it as an icon for an existing contact

To take a picture and assign it as an icon for a contact, perform the following steps:
1. At the main screen, scroll to the myFaves contact and press the Center Select key.
2. Scroll to and select Options.
3. Select Edit profile.
4. Scroll down to Icon and select Change.
5. Select Take Picture.
6. Frame the subject and select the Center Select key to take the photo.
7. Select Select.
8. Select Yes.
9. Select Save.

Assigning a saved photo as an icon for an existing contact

To assign a saved photo as an icon for a contact, perform the following steps:
1. At the main screen, scroll to the myFaves contact and press the Center Select key.
2. Scroll to and select Options.
3. Select Edit profile.
4. Scroll down to Icon and select Change.
5. Scroll to and select My Photos.
6. Scroll to and select the photo you want to use.
7. Select Yes.
8. Select Save.

Hiding or showing the myFaves main display

To hide or show the myFaves main display, perform the following steps:
1. At the main screen, press the Menu key.
2. Scroll to and select Settings.
3. Scroll to and select myFaves Settings.
4. Select Display.
5. Scroll to and select Show or Hide.
NOTE: Hiding or displaying the myFaves icons will change the default shortcuts assigned to the Navigation keys at the main screen.
6. Select OK.
NOTE: You can still access your myFaves contacts through the phone book when the myFaves main screen display is hidden.

Refreshing myFaves

NOTE: You synchronize myFaves information with the server by selecting Refresh myFaves.
To refresh myFaves, perform the following steps:
1. At the main screen, press the Menu key.
2. Scroll to and select Settings.
3. Scroll to and select myFaves Settings.
4. Scroll to and select Refresh myFaves.

Viewing missed calls

Missed calls from your myFaves contacts display with a Missed Call icon next to their respective circles on the main screen.
NOTE: To dismiss the icon or call the contact, scroll to the contact and press the Center Select key.

Viewing messages

Messages from your myFaves contacts display with a Message icon next to their respective circles on the main screen.
NOTE: To dismiss the icon, open the message when it arrives or view the message from the menu.
To view a message using the menu, perform the following steps:
1. At the main screen, press the Message key.
2. Scroll to and select Message Inbox.
3. Scroll to the message and select Read.
