Viewing memory (pictures and videos)

To view memory for pictures and videos, perform the following steps:
1. At the main screen, press the Right Soft key to select Camera.
2. Press the Menu key.
3. Scroll to and select View Free Space.

Viewing memory (phone book)

To view memory from the phone book, perform the following steps:
1. At the main screen, press the Down Navigation key to access the Phone Book.
2. Press the Menu key.
3. Scroll to and select Phone Capacity.

Viewing memory (SIM phone book)

To view memory from the SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) phone book, perform the following steps:
1. At the main screen, press the Down Navigation key to access the Phone Book.
2. Press the Menu key.
3. Scroll to and select SIM Capacity.

Inserting a memory card

To insert a memory card, perform the following steps:
NOTE: The V3t comes with a 128 KB TransFlash memory card (pre-installed).
NOTE: The memory card can be inserted and removed while phone is powered on.
1. Press in the back cover release latch and remove the back cover.

2. Slide the memory card under the metal clip and into the card slot as shown.

3. Replace the back cover.

Removing a memory card

To remove a memory card, perform the following steps:
NOTE: Do not remove your memory card while it is in use.
1. Press in the back cover release latch and remove the back cover.
2. Slide the memory card out from under the metal clip, lift out, and replace the back cover.

Using the default memory storage location

There are two storage locations that you can save content to — phone memory and memory card. To change the default storage location, go to Switching storage location.
Photos and videos are stored to the memory card. It is not recommended that you store photos and videos to the phone memory due to large file size.
To locate photos and videos on the memory card, perform the following steps:
1. At the main screen, press the Menu key.
2. Scroll to and select Fun & Apps.
3. Scroll to and select Pictures or Videos.
NOTE: Downloaded ringtones, wallpapers, icons, and games are stored to the phone memory by default.

To locate downloadable content on the phone memory, perform the following steps:
1. At the main screen, press the Menu key.
2. Scroll to and select Fun & Apps.
3. Scroll to and select Games & Apps, Pictures, or Sounds.

TIPS

  • If you have the memory card in the phone, photos and videos are saved, by default, to the memory card.
  • Downloaded contents (ringtones, wallpapers) are automatically stored to phone memory. You can move content to the memory card after the download if you want.
  • Items that are saved to the memory card will have this icon displayed. For example:

Switching storage location

To switch between the memory card and the phone memory, perform the following steps:
1. While in Pictures, Videos, Games & Apps, or Sounds, press the Menu key.
2. Select Switch Storage Device.
3. Select Memory Card or Phone.

Copying files from the computer to the memory card

NOTE: If you have Windows 2000, you must also have the latest Service Pack from Microsoft to transfer files from your computer to the memory card.

On your phone

To copy files from the computer to the memory card on your phone, perform the following steps:
1. At the main screen, press the Menu key.
2. Scroll to and select Settings, select Connection, select USB Settings, select Default Connection, and then select Memory Card. This directs the USB connection to your memory card.
3. Plug the USB cable into your phone and plug the other end into an active USB port on your computer.

On your computer

To copy files to the memory card on your computer, perform the following steps:
1. Locate and double-click the Removable Disk icon.
NOTE: On a PC, this is on the My Computer window. On a MAC, this is on the Desktop.
2. Locate the file that you want to copy to the memory card and drag and drop it onto one of the following locations:

MP3 files > mobile > audio folder
Screensavers > mobile > pictures
Wallpapers > mobile > pictures
3. When done, safely disconnect your phone from your computer.
NOTE: If you are using a PC, right-click the Safely Remove Hardware icon in the system tray at the bottom of your computer screen. Then select USB Mass Storage Devices and Stop. If you are using a MAC, select and drag the Removable Disk icon to the Trash.

Photos

NOTE: By default, photos taken with the camera are stored to the memory card under Menu > Fun & Apps > Pictures. It is not recommended that you store photos to the phone memory due to large file size.
To view photos on the phone, perform the following steps:
1. At the main screen, press the Menu key.
2. Scroll to and select Fun & Apps.
3. Select Pictures.
4. Scroll to the picture.
5. Select View.

Videos

NOTE: By default, videos are stored to the memory card under Menu > Fun & Apps > Videos. It is not recommended that you store videos to the phone memory due to large file size.
To view videos on the phone, perform the following steps:
1. At the main screen, press the Menu key.
2. Scroll to and select Fun & Apps.
3. Select Videos.
4. Scroll to the video.
5. Select Play.

To play music using the Menu, perform the following steps:
1. At the main screen, press the Menu key.
2. Scroll to and select Fun & Apps.
3. Select Sounds.
4. Scroll to the song file.
5. Select Play.

Playing music using the Digital Audio Player

To play music using the Digital Audio Player, perform the following steps:
1. At the main screen, press the Smart key on the left side of the phone to launch Digital Audio Player.
2. Scroll to and select Songs.
3. Scroll to the song and select PLAY.

Ringtones (MegaTones®, HiFi Ringers®, Voices & Sounds)

NOTE: By default, ringtones are stored to the phone memory under Menu > Fun & Apps > Sounds.
To select ringtones, perform the following steps:
1. Press the Menu key.
2. Scroll to and select Fun & Apps.
3. Scroll to and select Sounds.
4. Scroll to the sound.
5. Select Play.

Wallpapers

NOTE: By default, wallpapers are stored to the phone memory under Menu > Fun & Apps > Pictures.
To select wallpapers, perform the following steps:
1. At the main screen, press the Menu key.
2. Scroll to and select Fun & Apps.
3. Scroll to and select Pictures.
4. Scroll to the picture.
5. Select View.
Deleting files on a card using the phone
To delete files on a card using the phone, perform the following steps:
1. At the main screen, press the Menu key.
2. Scroll to and select Fun & Apps.
3. Scroll to and select Pictures, Sounds, or Videos.
4. Scroll to the file you want to delete.
5. Press the Menu key
6. Scroll to and select Delete.

Music, videos, photos taken with the camera
