Internet and t-zones® (T-Mobile Dash™)
Your device supports GPRS/EDGE and Wi-Fi to give you high-speed wireless voice and data connectivity at home, at work, and on the go. To access the Internet on your device, you must add a data plan to your account. Inform your T-Mobile Activations representative that you want to add a data plan when activating service with T-Mobile. Visit www.t-mobile.com or a T-Mobile store for plan rates.

To access t-zones, press the t-zones key.

Accessing the Internet, typing a URL, and adding a bookmark

NOTE: After you have added T-Mobile Internet to your account, you can connect to the Internet over the GPRS/EDGE network.
To access the Internet, type a URL, and add a bookmark, perform the following steps:
1. At the Home screen, select Start.
2. Scroll to and select Internet Explorer.
3. Select Menu, and then select Address Bar. If necessary, hold down the Back key for a few seconds until the current Web address is cleared.
4. Type the Web site address and select Go.
5. Select Menu, and then select Add to Favorite. If applicable, type a new name for the favorite and then select Add.

Using a T-Mobile HotSpot (Wi-Fi)

NOTE: After you have added T-Mobile HotSpot to your account, you can access the Internet over the T-Mobile Wi-Fi network.
To turn on Wi-Fi and access the Internet, perform the following steps:
1. At the Home screen, select Start.
2. Scroll to and select Comm Manager. The Communication Manager screen opens.

3. Scroll to and select Wi-Fi. When Wi-Fi is active, the icon is highlighted.
NOTE: You can log in to another Wi-Fi network that has roaming agreements with T-Mobile. Select the network that you want to use and launch your Web browser by selecting Start, and then selecting Internet Explorer. A login screen opens where you can type the username and password for your T-Mobile HotSpot account. For a listing of T-Mobile HotSpot roaming partners, go to Welcome to your Mobile Office.
If you select a network that does not have roaming agreements with T-Mobile, the Web browser will open a screen where you can create an account for that network.
If there are multiple Wi-Fi networks available, your phone displays the message, New wireless networks are available. Would you like to see the list of available network? Select Yes. At the Select network field, move the Navigation key Left or Right until you see T-Mobile [Unsecured]. Select Connect. The HotSpot Found screen opens.
If you do not have a T-Mobile HotSpot account, scroll to Sign Up For HotSpot service and press the Navigation key. A screen opens where you can add T-Mobile HotSpot to your account using your phone.
NOTE: If you select Do not ask me again (disable), you are disabling the HotSpot Utility screen where you can type your username and password to log in to T-Mobile HotSpot. You will not be able to log in at all because the phone will not prompt you the next time you are at a T-Mobile HotSpot location. To access the HotSpot Utility screen again, select Start, select More, select More, select Accessories, and then select T-Mobile HotSpot.
If you select Cancel, you will exit out and will not be connected to T-Mobile HotSpot.
4. At the HotSpot Found screen, select Login. The HotSpot Utility screen opens.
Note: If you select Cancel, you will exit out and will not be connected to T-Mobile HotSpot.

5. At the Hotspot Utility screen, type your 10-digit T-Mobile phone number (without dashes) in the Username field and your password in the Password field.
NOTE: The first time you log in, your password is the last 4 digits of your Social Security number. If you have a corporate liable account, your password will be the last 4 digits of your business tax ID number. You will be prompted to change your password.
Note: If desired, click to select any or all of the following options:
  • Disable HotSpot Login Utility: This disables the screen where you type your username and password to log in to T-Mobile HotSpot. Your device will no longer prompt you to log in when you enter a T-Mobile HotSpot location. To access the HotSpot Utility screen again, select Start, and then select TMO HotSpot.
  • Skip ‘login/cancel/sign up' request: You will skip the previous screen and will be prompted to type your username and password.
  • Automatic login: You will not be prompted to type your username and password the next time you connect to T-Mobile HotSpot.
  • Automatic logoff: You will be logged off T-Mobile HotSpot automatically when you turn off the Wi-Fi.

6. Select Ok. Your device connects to T-Mobile HotSpot and informs you if connection is successful.
7. Select Hide.
8. Select Exit at the Comm Manager screen.
9. Press the red End key to go to the Home screen.
10. At the Home screen, select Start, and then select Internet Explorer.
11. Select Menu, and then select Address Bar.
12. Type the desired Web site address.
13. Select Go.

Going forward or back a page

To go forward a page, select Menu, and then select Forward.
To go back a page, press the Back key.

Adjusting browser settings, clearing memory, and viewing history

To adjust browser settings and clear memory (cache), at the Internet Explorer screen, select Menu, select Tools, and then select Options.
To view browsing history, at the Internet Explorer screen, select Menu, and then select History.
