Using BlackBerry Enterprise Server™ (BES) (Samsung t719)
To use BlackBerry Enterprise Server, you will need to set up your phone to receive e-mail and install the Samsung PC Studio software, the USB drivers, and the Desktop Manager for Samsung software on your computer. In addition, the following requirements must be met:
- An active BlackBerry Enterprise Server account (Contact your system administrator to verify the account settings.)
- Windows® XP SP2 or Windows 2000 SP4
- USB 1.0
- CD-ROM drive
Setting up the phone to receive e-mail
To send and receive e-mail messages on your phone, you must first set up your phone for BlackBerry Enterprise Server.
To set up your phone for BlackBerry Enterprise Server, perform the following steps:
| 1. | Verify that your phone is connected to the wireless network. |
| 2. | At the main screen, select Menu. |
| 3. | Select Messages, Compose, and then Setup Email. |
NOTE: If you do not see Setup Email, go to the Troubleshooting BlackBerry Enterprise Server E-mail section of the User Guide.

| 4. | Scroll to and select BlackBerry Enterprise Server. |

NOTE: The phone displays BlackBerry initializes followed by BlackBerry connected. When successfully connected, you will see the
icon on top of the phone screen.
| 5. | To go back to the main screen, press the red End key. |
Installing the software and drivers
IMPORTANT: Be sure to install the Samsung PC Studio software before installing the USB driver and Desktop Manager for Samsung software.
To install the software and drivers, perform the following steps:
| 1. | Insert the CD that came with your phone into your computer's CD-ROM drive. From the Select Language dialog box, click English. |
| 2. | Click Install Samsung PC Studio. |
| Do not exit out of this dialog box at the end of the installation of the Samsung PC Studio. Repeat the installation for Install USB Driver and Install Desktop Manager for Samsung. |

NOTE: The installation wizard opens.
| 3. | Click Next. |

| 4. | Click I accept the terms of the license agreement, and then click Next. |

| 5. | To install to the default location, click Next. |

| 6. | Click Install. |

NOTE: The wizard installs the software.
| 7. | Click Finish. |

NOTE: The Samsung PC Studio - Live Update dialog box opens.
| 8. | Click Start. |

| 9. | Click OK when search is complete. |

NOTE: The Connection Wizard dialog box opens.
| 10. | At the Connection Wizard dialog box, click USB Cable Connection, and then click Next. |

NOTE: The wizard will then prompt you to connect your phone to your computer.

| 11. | Connect your phone to your computer using the USB cable. |
NOTE: When connection is successful, the wizard will display a confirmation.
| 12. | Click Finish. |

NOTE: The Samsung PC Studio window opens.
| 13. | Minimize the Samsung PC Studio window. |

| 14. | Click the X in the bottom, right corner of the main installation dialog box to exit. |
