How do I activate a T-Mobile Prepaid Pay By The Day rate plan?

To activate a Pay By The Day rate plan, select one of the following options:
  • Go to Pay By The Day Activation.
  • Go to a T-Mobile Retail Store, or a participating retailer that offers T-Mobile Prepaid services.
  • Call 1-877-778-2107 and activate through our automated system.

What is included with the T-Mobile Prepaid Pay By The Day plan?

The following is included with the T-Mobile Prepaid Pay By The Day plan:
  • Unlimited nights from 7:00 p.m. to 6:59 a.m.
  • Unlimited mobile-to-mobile calling to anyone on the T-Mobile network.
  • All other domestic calls are $0.10 per minute.
  • Incoming text messages are $0.05 each and sent text messages are $0.10 each.
  • You are charged the $1 per day usage charge only when the voice calling service is used.

When will I be charged the $1 per day usage charge on my T-Mobile Prepaid Pay By The Day rate plan?

You will be charged $1 on days when a voice call is placed or received.
NOTE: If you have a day where you do not place or receive any calls, you will not be charged the $1 for that day.
Your usage charge is determined by your area code, not the time zone you are located in. For example, if you have a New York area code, your $1 per day usage indicator will reset at 12:00 midnight EST no matter where you are.
The following instances do not count towards a voice call:
  • Calls to 611, 911 or *8646.
  • Text and picture messaging.
  • Incoming calls that go to voicemail.

NOTE: Calls to check your voicemail DO trigger the $1 per day usage charge.

What is considered “one day” for the $1 per day usage charge on T-Mobile Prepaid Pay By The Day rate plan?

The $1 per day usage charge is based on a 24-hour clock, which always resets when the clock passes 12:00 a.m. midnight in the time zone of your area code. For example, if you have a New York City area code, your $1 per day will reset at 12:00 a.m. midnight EST.
NOTE: If you are on a call at 12:00 a.m. midnight when your clock resets, you will not be charged another $1 per day usage charge during that call.

When am I charged the $0.10 per minute charge with my T-Mobile Prepaid Pay By The Day rate plan?

You will be charged $0.10 for any domestic calls to or from numbers that are not other T-Mobile customers between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 6:59 p.m.

What is the cost to send or receive a text message with my T-Mobile Prepaid Pay By The Day rate plan?

You will be charged $0.10 to send a text message and $0.05 to receive a text message.

How is the Unlimited Nights period determined on my T-Mobile Prepaid Pay By The Day rate plan?

Unlimited Nights are based on your current time zone location. For example, if you have a New York area code, but are visiting Seattle, your night minutes will begin at 7:00 p.m. PST and end at 6:59 a.m. PST.
Calls are counted by the minute, rather than the length of the call. For example, if a call is started at 6:55 p.m. and lasts until 7:30 p.m., you will be charged $0.10 for the five minutes before 7:00 p.m. and the remainder of the call will use your unlimited nights.

How are International Long Distance calls charged on T-Mobile Prepaid Pay By The Day rate plan?

International long distance calls are charged the regular prepaid international long distance rates based on the call destination.
NOTE: An international long distance call will trigger the $1 per day usage charge if it is the first call of the day. International Long Distance calls do not apply to Unlimited Night minutes.

What happens if I have insufficient funds on T-Mobile Prepaid Pay By The Day rate plan?

If funds are not available, your call will not be placed and you will receive a message notifying you of the status of your account. Any incoming callers will be notified that the T-Mobile Prepaid customer cannot receive calls at this time. If you run out of funds during a call, you will receive a voice message warning that there are 30 seconds remaining to complete the call.
NOTE: If you have $1.00 in your balance and you place your first call of the day, the $1 usage charge will be charged, bringing your balance to $0 and the only calls that can be placed are during the Unlimited Nights period or to other T-Mobile customers.
When you run out of funds you can simply dial *ADD (*233), or visit t-zonesŪ from your phone to refill. You may also refill online with a credit card, debit card, or echeck.
