Billing Format FAQs

What options do I have to receive my bill?

There are three different ways you can receive your statement from T-Mobile. Refer to the information below for descriptions on each of the three options:
  • Paperless Billing allows our customers to receive their billing statements online, rather than in a paper format. For more details on Paperless Billing, go to What is Paperless Billing?
There are also two options to receive your bill in a paper format:
  • Summary Paper Bill is a statement that provides a quick and accurate overview of your bill. This statement will provide you with a summary of your service charges and the balance that is due.

  • Detailed Paper Bill is a statement that itemizes each call and all usage, service charges, taxes, and fees. There is a low cost per month to receive your bill in this format.

What billing details are included on a Summary Bill Statement?

The Summary Bill Statement will provide you with a breakdown of the cost for your rate plan and features, as well as providing a total count of services that were used through the month.
The Summary Bill Statement will also provide all call detail if you do go over your included rate plan minutes, any long distance or roaming calls that you may have during a bill cycle, and detailed information about any downloads that were purchased over the billing cycle.

What billing details are shown on the Detailed Billing Statement?

The Detailed Billing Statement includes a breakdown of the cost for your rate plan and features and this format will provide all call details for the billing cycle. The statement will show summaries of text message usage, as well as myFaves®, Unlimited HotSpot Calling, and data usage.
Any long distance or roaming calls that you may have during the billing cycle and download information will be provided on the statement as well.

What are the differences between the billing formats?

The Summary Bill Statement provides the necessary details to understand your bill and your usage, without all the extra pages.
The Detailed Bill Statement gives the same necessary details, but also provides all call, usage, and service charges in an organized statement for those that need that information monthly.

I just activated my service; what billing format was my account set up with?

All newly activated accounts are set up with the Summary Bill Statement.

How can I change my billing format?

What if I need a phone number that I called, but I currently have a Summary Bill Statement?

You will have access to full calling detail for your unbilled usage and the last three billing statements through My T-Mobile no matter what billing format you have established.
