Introducing myFaves

myFaves is an optional calling plan. T-Mobile myFaves helps you stay connected to the people who matter most in your life. Simply choose any five US phone numbers you call most often, on any network, and have them displayed on your phone’s main screen.*
*Excluding 411; voicemail; toll-free, 900, calling card, and customers' own numbers; and single numbers allowing access to 500 or more persons.

Adding a new contact

To add a new contact, perform the following steps:
1. At the main screen, scroll to an unassigned circle and press the OK key.
2. Select Create new.
3. Type the contact’s name.
4. Scroll Down and type the contact’s phone number.

Assign an icon

5. Scroll Down to Change Icon and press the OK key.
6. Select one of the following options:
  • Take picture to take a picture with the camera. Frame the subject, and then press the OK key to take the picture. Press the OK key again to select the picture.
  • Photos to use a previously saved picture. Scroll to and select the picture. Press the OK key to select the picture. Press the Left and Right Navigation keys to adjust the circle, and then select Crop. Press the OK key to select the cropped picture.
  • myFaves icons to use a pre-loaded myFaves icon. Scroll to and select the icon. Press the OK key to select the icon.
  • Download images to use an image that you previously downloaded. Press the OK key to select the picture. Use the Left and Right Navigation keys to adjust the circle, and then select Crop. Press the OK key to select the cropped picture.
NOTE: Digitally Rights Protected (DRM) images cannot be cropped and used as myFaves icons.

Assign a ringtone

7. Scroll down to T-jingle and press the OK key.
8. At Ring tone, press the OK key.
9. Scroll to and select the desired ringtone.

Assign a birthday reminder

10. Scroll Down to Birthday:. Press the OK key to select Edit.
11. Type the date, and then select Save.
12. Scroll Down to Reminder. Press the OK key to select Edit.
13. Type the desired number, and then select Save.

Assign an anniversary reminder

14. Scroll Down to Anniversary:. Press the OK key to select Edit.
15. Type the date, and then select Save.
16. Scroll Down to Reminder. Press the OK key to select Edit.
17. Type the desired number and select Save.
18. Select Save and then Yes to confirm saving your contact.
The myFaves circle displays an hourglass while the contact is being updated. Once your contact is added, you receive a confirmation and your contact displays on the main screen.

Adding a contact from the phone book

To add a contact from the phone book, perform the following steps:
1. At the main screen, scroll to an unassigned circle and press the OK key.
2. Scroll to and select From phonebook.
3. Scroll to and select the contact you want to add.

Assign an icon

4. Scroll Down to Change Icon and press the OK key.
5. Select one of the following options:
  • Take picture to take a picture with the camera. Frame the subject, and then press the OK key to take the picture. Press the OK key again to select the picture.
  • Photos to use a previously saved picture. Scroll to and select the picture. Press the OK key to select the picture. Press the Left and Right Navigation keys to adjust the circle, and then select Crop. Press the OK key to select the cropped picture.
  • myFaves icons to use a pre-loaded myFaves icon. Scroll to and select the icon. Press the OK key to select the icon.

Assign a ringtone

6. Scroll down to T-jingle and press the OK key.

To send a text message to a myFaves contact, perform the following steps:
1. At the main screen, press the Left or Right Navigation key to scroll to the myFaves contact.
2. Press the OK key.
3. Scroll to Send message and press the OK key.
4. Type your message.
5. Select Send.

Sending a picture message to a myFaves contact

To send a picture message to a myFaves contact, perform the following steps:
1. At the main screen, press the Left or Right Navigation key to scroll to the myFaves contact.
2. Press the OK key.
3. Scroll to Share picture and press the OK key.
4. Select one of the following:
  • Take picture to take a picture with the camera. Frame the subject, and then press the OK key to take the picture. Press the OK key to begin recording a Voice Note. Select Stop when finished recording. Press the OK key to select Send.
  • Photos to use a previously saved picture. Scroll to and select the picture. At Subject, press the OK key. Type your subject, and then press the OK key. Scroll Down to Message and press the OK key. Type your message, and then press the OK key. Select Send.
  • myFaves icons to use a pre-loaded myFaves icon. Scroll to and select the icon. Press the OK key to select the icon. At Subject, press the OK key. Type your subject, and then press the OK key. Scroll Down to Message and press the OK key. Type your message, and then press the OK key. Select Send.
  • Download images to use an image that you previously downloaded. Scroll to and select the picture. At Subject, press the OK key. Type your subject and press the OK key. Scroll Down to Message and press the OK key. Type your message, and then press the OK key. Select Send.
NOTE: You cannot send Digitally Rights Protected (DRM) images.

Sending an e-mail to a myFaves contact

NOTE: It is recommended that you set up your e-mail account(s) before using this function. For more information, go to Consumer e-mail client (Samsung Blast).
To send an e-mail to a myFaves contact, perform the following steps:
1. At the main screen, press the Left or Right Navigation key to scroll to the myFaves contact.
2. Press the OK key.
3. Scroll to Send e-mail and press the OK key.
4. Select the e-mail account.
5. At To, press the OK key to select Add.
6. Select Recent recipients or Phonebook.
7. Scroll to the contact and press the OK key to place a check in the check box.
8. Press the Left Soft key to Select or select Add.
9. Scroll down to Subject and type your subject.
10. Scroll down to the message body and type your message.
11. Press the OK key to select Send.

Sending an IM to a myFaves contact

NOTE: Before using this feature, you need to subscribe to a messenger service. Your handset has 4 pre-loaded instant messaging services:
  • AOL® Instant Messaging Service (AIM®)
  • ICQ® Service
  • Windows Live® Service
  • Yahoo!® Messenger Service
To send an IM to a myFaves contact, perform the following steps:
1. At the main screen, press the Left or Right Navigation key to scroll to the myFaves contact.
2. Press the OK key.
3. Scroll to Send IM and press the OK key.
4. Scroll to and select your IM client.
5. Log in to your IM account.
6. Scroll to the contact and press the OK key.
7. Type your IM, and then press the OK key to send.

Sending a video to a myFaves contact

To send a video to a myFaves contact, perform the following steps:
1. At the main screen, press the Left or Right Navigation key to scroll to the myFaves contact.
2. Press the OK key.
3. Scroll to Share video and press the OK key.
4. Select one of the following:
  • Record video to record a new video. Frame the subject, and then press the OK key to begin recording. Press the OK key to stop recording, and then select Send.
  • Videos to send a video that you have already recorded and saved. Scroll to and select the video. At Subject, press the OK key. Type your subject, and then press the OK key. Scroll Down to Message and press the OK key. Type your message and press the OK key. Select Send.
  • Downloaded videos to send a video that you have previously downloaded. Scroll to and select the video. At Subject, press the OK key. Type your subject, and then press the OK key. Scroll Down to Message and press the OK key. Type your message, and then press the OK key. Select Send.

Sending Voice Notes to a myFaves contact

To send a Voice Note to a myFaves contact, perform the following steps:
1. At the main screen, press the Left or Right Navigation key to scroll to the myFaves contact.
2. Press the OK key.
3. Scroll to Send voice note and press the OK key.
4. Select Record to record your message.
5. Select Stop.
6. Select Send.

Editing contact information

Names, icons, ringtones: You can change names, icons, or ringtones at any time.
Phone numbers: You can only change a contact’s phone number once per calendar month. If a number change is not allowed, you will receive an error message explaining why.
To edit contact information, perform the following steps:
1. At the main screen, press the Left or Right Navigation key to scroll to the myFaves contact.
2. Press the OK key.
3. Select Options, and then select Edit profile.
4. Type a new name or number.

Changing the icon

To change the icon, perform the following steps:
1. Scroll to Change icon and press the OK key.
2. Select one of the following options:
  • Take picture to take a picture with the camera. Frame the subject, and then press the OK key to take the picture. Press the OK key again to select the picture.
  • Photos to use a previously saved picture. Scroll to and select the picture. Press the OK key to select the picture. Press the Left and Right Navigation keys to adjust the circle, and then select Crop. Press the OK key to select the cropped picture.

Changing the ringtone

To change the ringtone, perform the following steps:
1. Scroll to T-jingle and press the OK key.
2. At Ring tone, press the OK key.
3. Scroll to and select the desired ringtone.

Changing the birthday reminder

To change the birthday reminder, perform the following steps:
1. Scroll Down to Birthday:, and then press the OK key to select Edit.
2. Type the date, and then select Save.
3. Scroll Down to Reminder, and then press the OK key to select Edit.
4. Type the number, and then select Save.

Changing the anniversary reminder

To change the anniversary reminder, perform the following steps:
1. Scroll Down to Anniversary:, and then press the OK key to select Edit.
2. Type the date, and then select Save.
3. Scroll Down to Reminder, and then press the OK key to select Edit.
4. Type the number, and then select Save.

Changing the order of your myFaves contacts

To change the order of your myFaves contacts, perform the following steps:
1. At the main screen, press the Left or Right Navigation key to scroll to the myFaves contact.
2. Press the OK key.
3. Select Options, and then select Change order.
4. Press the Left or Right Navigation key to move the contact to a new position.
5. Select Save.

Replacing a contact

To replace a contact, perform the following steps:
1. At the main screen, press the Left or Right Navigation key to scroll to the myFaves contact.
2. Press the OK key.
3. Select Options, and then select Replace contact.
4. Select Create new or From phonebook.

Changing an icon by taking a new picture and assigning it to an existing contact

To change an icon by taking a new picture and assigning it to an existing contact, perform the following steps:
1. At the main screen, press the Left or Right Navigation key to scroll to the myFaves contact.
2. Pres the OK key.
3. Select Options, and then select Edit profile.
4. Scroll to Change Icon and press the OK key.
5. Select Take Picture.
6. Frame the subject, and then press the OK key to take the picture.
7. Press the OK key again to select the picture.
8. Select Save to update the contact.

Changing an icon by cropping an existing picture and assigning it to a contact

To change an icon by cropping an existing picture and assigning it to a contact, perform the following steps:
1. At the main screen, press the Left or Right Navigation key to scroll to the myFaves contact.
2. Pres the OK key.
3. Select Options, and then select Edit profile.
4. Scroll to Change Icon and press the OK key.
5. Scroll to and select Photos.
6. Scroll to and select the desired picture.
7. Press the OK key to select the picture.
8. Press the Navigation keys to adjust the circle, and then select Crop.
9. Press the OK key to select the cropped picture.
10. Select Save to update the contact.

Downloading new icons

To download new icons, perform the following steps:
1. At the main screen, select Menu.
2. Scroll to and select Settings.
3. Scroll to and select myFaves settings.
4. Scroll to and select myFaves icons.
5. Scroll to and select Browse myFaves icons.
6. At myFaves icons, press the OK key.
7. Scroll to the category and press the OK key.
8. Scroll to the icon and press the OK key.
9. Scroll to Accept and press the OK key.
10. Select OK.
11. Select Set as to assign the icon or select View to display the image.
NOTE: Downloaded myFaves icon files are saved to Menu > Fun & Apps > Files > Icons > myFaves icons.

Downloading new ringtones

To download new ringtones, perform the following steps:
1. Press the t-zones® key.
2. Scroll to the Downloads tab and press the OK key.
3. Press the OK key to select HiFi Ringers, MegaTones, or Voices & Sounds.
4. Press the OK key to select the category and file.
5. At ACCEPT, press the OK key.
6. At select, press the OK key.
7. Select Set as.
8. Select Yes.
9. Select myFaves ringtone.
10. Select the myFaves contact.

Setting a birthday reminder

To set a birthday reminder, perform the following steps:
1. At the main screen, press the Left or Right Navigation key to scroll to the myFaves contact.
2. Press the OK key.
3. Select Options, and then select Edit profile.
4. Scroll Down to Birthday:, and then press the OK key to select Edit.
5. Type the date, and then select Save.
6. Scroll Down to Reminder, and then press the OK key to select Edit.
7. Type the number, and then select Save.

Setting an anniversary reminder

To set an anniversary reminder, perform the following steps:
1. At the main screen, press the Left or Right Navigation key to scroll to the myFaves contact.
2. Press the OK key.
3. Select Options, and then select Edit Profile.
4. Scroll down to Anniversary:, and then press the OK key.
5. Type the date, and then select Save.
6. Scroll down to Reminder, and then press the OK key.
7. Type the number, and then select Save.

Minimizing or showing the myFaves main display

To minimize or show the myFaves main display, perform the following steps:
1. At the main screen, select Menu.
2. Scroll to and select Settings.
3. Scroll to and select myFaves settings.
4. Select myFaves display.
5. Select On or Minimize.
6. Select OK.
NOTE: If the myFaves main display is minimized, at the main screen, press the OK key to bring up the myFaves display. Press the red End key or close the slide to minimize it again.

Changing the myFaves menu style

You can navigate your myFaves contact menu as either a list (default) or a circle.
To change the myFaves menu style, perform the following steps:
1. At the main screen, select Menu.
2. Scroll to and select Settings.
3. Scroll to and select myFaves settings.
4. Scroll and select Menu style.
5. Select List or Circle.

Refreshing myFaves

To refresh myFaves, perform the following steps:
1. At the main screen, select Menu.
2. Scroll to and select Settings.
3. Scroll to and select myFaves settings.
4. Scroll to and select Refresh contacts.
5. Select OK.
