T-Mobile Address Book settings (Nokia 5300)
Configuring T-Mobile Address Book settings
To configure T-Mobile Address Book settings, perform the following steps:
| 1. | From the main screen, select Menu. |
| 2. | Scroll to and select Settings. |
| 3. | Scroll to and select Connectivity. |
| 4. | Scroll to and select Data Transfer. |
| 5. | Server sync is highlighted. Press Options. |
| 6. | Edit is highlighted. Press Select. |
| 7. | Select one of the following: |
- Synchronized data: Options presented are Phonebook, Calendar, and Notes. Only Phonebook is supported at this time.
- Scroll to Phonebook.
- Select Mark to add a check next to Phonebook.
- Select Done.
- Select Yes to save changes.
- Sync settings: The default settings are correct and should not be changed. If the settings are changed in error, they can be corrected to the following:
- Configuration: Default.
- Account: T-Mobile Sync.
- User name: T-Mobile.
- Password: T-Mobile. This field may appear empty.
Activating the Address Book
To activate T-Mobile Address Book, perform the following steps:
| 1. | From the main screen, select Menu. |
| 2. | Scroll to and select Settings. |
| 3. | Scroll to and select Connectivity. |
| 4. | Scroll to and select Data Transfer. |
| 5. | Select Server sync. The screen displays Select data to be synchronized and lists Phonebook, Calendar, and Notes. |
| 6. | The Phonebook entry is highlighted. Select Mark to add a check next to Phonebook. |
| 8. | Select Yes to save changes. |
| 9. | Select Yes to synchronize. Handset displays Initializing synchronization. |
| 10. | Contacts Updated appears. Press OK to return to the Data Transfer screen. |
Synchronizing contacts in the Address Book
NOTE: Automatic synchronization is not supported by the Nokia 5300. Contacts must be manually synchronized for changes to be stored on the server.
To manually synchronize contacts with T-Mobile Address Book, perform the following steps:
| 1. | From the main screen, select Menu. |
| 2. | Scroll to and select Phonebook. |
| 3. | Scroll to and select Synchronize all. |
| 4. | The phone displays synchronize selected data? t-zones, T-Mobile Phonebook. Select Yes. |
| 5. | The phone displays Initializing synchronization. Press OK to return to the phone book settings. |
