There are two methods for verifying your current software version. The available upgrade, Maintenance Release (MR1), will update both your device software and the device Read-Only Memory (ROM).

Determining the current software version of your T-Mobile MDA
To determine the current software version of your T-Mobile MDA, perform the following steps:
| 1. | Tap Start, and then tap Settings. |
| 2. | Tap the System tab. |
| 3. | Tap About. |
| 4. | Under the Version tab, the version information appears. |
NOTE: The most recent software version for the T-Mobile MDA is Microsoft Windows Mobile Version 5.0 OS 5.1.195. For instructions on obtaining and installing this upgrade, go to How Do I Perform a Device Upgrade? (T-Mobile MDA®)
Determining the current ROM version of your T-Mobile MDA
To determine the current ROM version of your T-Mobile MDA, perform the following steps:
| 1. | Tap Start, and then tap Settings. |
| 2. | Tap the System tab. |
| 3. | Tap Device Information. |
