What is myFaves?

myFaves is a rate plan that allows T-Mobile customers to save money each month! With a myFaves rate plan, you are able to choose five numbers that you make and receive calls to and from the most. Calls to and from these numbers are included in the myFaves rate plan, and you will not be billed for these calls. For additional information, go to myFaves Plan Overview.
NOTE: You must have a myFaves capable phone to subscribe to this service.

What happens if I block my outgoing caller ID?

This will not affect the myFaves service. The myFaves service will also recognize the phone number of an incoming call even if the calling party blocks their caller ID. A blocked caller ID will not cause you to be billed incorrectly.

Do Blackberry®, Sidekick®, or handheld devices work with a myFaves plan?

Yes. Certain BlackBerry®, Sidekick®, and other handheld devices are supported by the myFaves service.

How do I add or change a myFaves contact?

myFaves lets you change your contacts right from your phone or online at My T-Mobile. For more information, go to How do I change/add myFaves® online?

How often can I modify a myFaves contact?

You can change each of your myFaves contacts up to once per calendar month, however, the name associated with the contact number may be changed as many times as you like. For a complete list of restrictions, go to How often can I switch the people in my Faves 5?

Can I have more than five contacts?

No. At this time, only five contacts are allowed.

How long does it take to complete a contact change?

In most cases, the contact change should be completed within two hours. While the change is being performed, an hourglass symbol will appear on your phone. Once the change is completed, you will receive a confirmation text message to your mobile phone. After this message is received, the hourglass symbol will no longer be visible, and the contact name will appear on your phone. Calls to and from contacts will not be free until the hourglass symbol is no longer visible.

Are text and picture messages to my myFaves contacts free?

No. myFaves is intended for use with voice calls. Text, picture or video messages, and data are not included in the myFaves rate plan.

How do I know which numbers I should use as my myFaves contacts?

Did you know that most customers call the same five numbers 65% of the time? Just think about who you talk to most often – or who you wish you talked to more – and put them in your my Faves 5.

What happens if I make a mobile number change?

There will be no impact to your myFaves contacts as a result of a number change.

Can I add a 1-800 number as a myFaves contact?

No. 800 and 900 numbers are restricted from being added as a myFaves contact. For a complete list of restrictions, go to How often can I switch the people in my Faves 5?

Can I add an international number as a myFaves contact?

No. Only 10-digit US domestic numbers and numbers for Puerto Rico may be added. For a complete list of restrictions, go to How often can I switch the people in my Faves 5?

Will myFaves contacts still work when roaming on another carrier's network?

Yes, but only if you are roaming on a domestic roaming partner. While roaming internationally, you will need to manually dial the number including any international access codes. International dialing and roaming charges and airtime will apply. For more information on international calling and roaming rates, go to International Services.

Can I call my myFaves contacts while abroad?

Yes. These calls will be charged at international roaming rates. While traveling abroad, you will need to dial numbers using the international dialing codes for the country you are calling. The myFaves contacts interface on your phone cannot be used for these calls. For more information on international calling and roaming rates, go to International Services.

What numbers can be added as a myFaves contact?

Nearly any domestic 10-digit landline and mobile phone number can be used. For a complete list of restrictions, go to How often can I switch the people in my Faves 5?

Can I make changes to my myFaves contact list while my account is suspended?

No. The account must be fully active in order to make any changes to your myFaves contacts.

Can I add a prepaid number as a myFaves contact?

Yes. You will not be billed for calls made and received to the prepaid customer; however, the prepaid user will be billed for their usage. Unfortunately, the myFaves plan is not available for T-Mobile To Go subscribers at this time.

Why do I get free calls to my friend's office but not when he calls me?

Your friend may have a direct dial extension in his office, but when he calls you, the caller ID may display the company's main contact number. In this case, this call will be charged. A possible work around would be to add this number as a myFaves contact as well.

Do the myFaves for Families plans still include unlimited calling to others on their plan?

With myFaves for Families, everyone gets to connect to their own my fave 5. Family members can choose to select each other as their myFaves, or they can select any other US numbers as their myFaves. Families can also add mobile-to-mobile and receive unlimited calling to all other T-Mobile customers.

How can I check to see if I am on the best myFaves rate plan?

To ensure you are on the best myFaves rate plan, check your minutes regularly by dialing #646#.

Can I continue to dial myFaves contacts even if I run out of Whenever Minutes?

Yes. A great benefit of FlexPay is that you can get a myFaves rate plan and continue reaching your Faves even when you've run out of Whenever Minutes.
