Resetting the Device (T-Mobile MDA)
Occasions may arise when it becomes necessary to reset your device. There are two types of resets: soft reset and hard reset. Always attempt to resolve your issues by performing a soft reset first, as a hard reset returns your device to its default out-of-the-box settings, and all saved information and third-party applications are lost.
Performing a soft reset
CAUTION: When you perform a soft reset, all unsaved data stored in random access memory (RAM) is lost. Before performing a soft reset, save your data.
To soft reset the device, perform the following steps:
| 1. | On the right side of the device, locate the RESET button. |
| 2. | Using the stylus, lightly press the RESET button. The device restarts and displays the Today screen. |

Performing a hard reset
CAUTION: When you perform a hard reset, your device returns to its default out-of-the-box settings, and all information and third-party applications are lost. Only perform a hard reset when you want to clear all settings, programs, and data.
To hard reset the device, perform the following steps:
| 1. | Tap Start. |
| 2. | Tap Settings. |
| 3. | Tap the System tab. |
| 4. | Tap the Clear Storage icon. |
| 5. | Type the indicated word or numbers, and tap Yes. The device resets and powers on. |
