Why do some Motorola configurations arrive as instructions instead of as OTA updates?

Some Motorola configurations arrive as instructions instead of as OTA updates because the majority of Motorola phones use Openwave® Internet browsers, which do not have the ability to be updated wirelessly. For these phones, we provide a manual step-by-step solution for configuring the settings. Follow the instructions sent to your phone to configure your settings.

How long does it take the wireless configuration package to arrive?

The wireless configuration package usually arrives within 60 to 90 seconds, with some settings arriving faster and some arriving later (due to bandwidth or network issues).

Why should I use the T-Mobile Wireless Configurator instead of similar tools provided by Sony Ericsson or Nokia?

Other companies may provide OTA settings for un-configured phones; however, these OTA settings are not supported by T-Mobile and should not be used to configure T-Mobile phones as they may disable features or cause other problems.

Can a wireless configuration package damage my SIM card or mobile phone?

No. The wireless configuration is a text-based message (sometimes in a binary format) that is sent to the phone. Your phone will not be damaged by the configurations sent using the T-Mobile Wireless Configurator.
