How Do I Connect My BlackBerry® to My Computer?
NOTE: The following instructions were written using a PC running Microsoft Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 2. The software setup was performed using software designed for the BlackBerry 7290® handheld. These steps will be similar for your Microsoft Windows version and your specific BlackBerry model.
NOTE: It is always best to download both the latest Desktop and Handheld Software to ensure the best compatibility. For more information on how to download and install the latest handheld software version, go to Downloading the BlackBerry® Desktop and Handheld Software.
NOTE: This article assumes that you have already installed the BlackBerry Handheld Software. To learn how to install the software, go to How do I install the BlackBerry® Handheld Software?
Note: After you have installed your BlackBerry Desktop Software to your PC, please ensure the BlackBerry Desktop Manager is running before connecting your handheld using this USB cable. Your BlackBerry handheld included a USB cable to allow you to connect your handheld to your PC. Prior to connecting the handheld to your PC, the BlackBerry Desktop Manager application will indicate that the handheld is Disconnected.
