Downloading the BlackBerry® Desktop and Handheld Software
NOTE: New BlackBerry® handhelds ship with a copy of the BlackBerry Desktop Software. However, newer versions of the software are released by Research In Motion® and T-Mobile periodically. It is always best to obtain the latest software versions to ensure your BlackBerry® is running at the very best. Our staff carefully screens this software to ensure it meets T-Mobile’s standards for quality and functionality. T-Mobile provides the latest software updates free of charge.
To download the BlackBerry Desktop and Handheld Software, perform the following steps:
| Pop-up blocking software may prevent the software from downloading. |
| 1. | Go to www.t-mobile.com/bbupgrade. |
| 2. | From the BlackBerry Upgrade page, next to your handheld, click get software. |

| 3. | From the Product downloads page, in the BlackBerry® Download Center text box, type your mobile number, and then press the ENTER key. |

| 4. | On the Available Downloads page, under BlackBerry Software Updates, click the link for the software update that you want. |
NOTE: The links on the Available Downloads page will download the following:
- Desktop Manager and Handheld Software Upgrade Instructions: This PDF file describes how to install the Desktop Manager Software and the Handheld Software.
- Desktop Manager Software (4.0.1.12): This software must be installed on your computer for the Handheld Software upgrade.
- Handheld Software Version (4.0.2.49): This is the software upgrade for your handheld.
- Application Download Instructions: Instant Messaging Installation Instructions: This PDF file describes how to install the instant messaging clients on your handheld.
- Application: Instant Messaging (4.46.17) AIM, ICQ, Y! Messenger, and MSN Messenger: This is the software for the instant messaging clients.

| 5. | On the Download page, click Download. |

NOTE: If you choose to download a PDF, a new browser window will appear with the PDF in it. If you choose to download a software installation file, a File Download - Security Warning dialog box will appear.
| 6. | From the File Download - Security Warning dialog box, click Save. |

| 7. | In the Save As dialog box, from the Save in drop-down menu, click to select a location to save the file. Click Save. |
