Picture and Video Messaging (Samsung v205)
The phone does it all! You can take pictures with the camera attachment and e-mail them to any e-mail address or view them on your phone's color display. This phone is also loaded with features!

Taking a picture and sending it to an e-mail address:

To take a picture and send it to an e-mail address, perform the following steps:
1. At the main screen, select Menu.
2. Scroll to and select Camera.
3. Scroll to and select Take and Send.
4. The camera activates and the phone display screen shows a live picture image. Position the camera to frame your subject in the display screen. When framed and ready, hold still and take the picture by selecting Take. Do not move while the image is being captured.
NOTE: To flip the image, use the Up and Down Arrow keys.To adjust the brightness of the image, use the Left and Right Arrow keys.
5. The screen displays the picture. To accept and save the image, select Save. To try again, select Cancel, and then repeat Step 4.
6. Enter a name for the image, and then select OK. A confirmation screen appears. The image is stored on the phone.
7. Enter the Subject line of the message, and then select OK To exit, press the red End key.
8. The image appears with the option to add to the message. To add text, select Options. Scroll to and select Add Text. Type the text for the body of the message. When done, select OK.
9. To send the message, from Write Options, select Options.
10. Scroll to and select Send.
11. Scroll to and select E-Mail.
12. Type the e-mail address, and press OK.
NOTE: To type the at (@) symbol, press the 1 key.
13. Scroll to and select Send Message.

Taking a picture and sending it to another phone:

To take a picture and send it to another phone, perform the following steps:
1. At the main screen, select Menu.
2. Scroll to and select Camera.
3. Scroll to and select Take and Send.
4. The camera activates and the phone display screen shows a live picture image. Position the camera to frame your subject in the display screen. When framed and ready, hold still and take the picture by selecting Take. Do not move while the image is being captured.
NOTE: To flip the image, use the Up and Down Arrow keys.To adjust the brightness of the image, use the Left and Right Arrow keys.
5. The screen displays the picture. To accept and save the image, select Save. To try again, select Cancel, and then repeat Step 4.
6. Enter a name for the image, and then select OK. A confirmation screen appears. The image is stored on the phone.
7. Enter the Subject line of the message, and then select OK To exit, press the red End key.

9. To send the message, from Write Options, select Options.
10. Scroll to and select Send.
11. Scroll to and select Phone Number.
12. Type the phone number, and press OK.
13. Scroll to and select Send Message.
NOTE: Picture messages can only be sent to T-Mobile phones that are picture message capable.

Tips while using the camera attachment:

  • To flip the image, press the Up and Down Arrow keys
  • To adjust the brightness of the image while taking a picture, press the Right and Left Arrow keys
  • For best results while taking pictures:
    • Maintain a distance of 1.5 meters (about 5 ft.) from your subject
    • Avoid subjects with sharp contrasts between light and dark
    • Keep the camera still and at a right angle
    • Use good lighting conditions

Troubleshooting:

  • When sending to another mobile device, the recipient MUST have an MMS (picture messages) capable device to receive the message properly. If they do not have an MMS capable device, content will be stripped and they will receive the message as text only. Please note that the image will not come through at all and it is possible that only a portion of the text will come through.
  • When an MMS message is sent to a non-MMS device, the sender will receive the following message:

    +14251112222
    can only receive text messages.
    Your picture message was delivered as text only.
    NOTE: This message will only appear when sending from phone-to-phone. E-mail-to-phone will not receive any error message if the recipient has an MMS (picture messages) capable device and has originated an MMS message from the device prior to receiving the message.
  • When sending a picture immediately, the message field is pre-filled with an envelope. This indicates that the picture is attached.
  • The Samsung v205 can receive Jpeg, GIF, and WBMP picture files.
  • The Samsung v205 can receive picture sizes up to CIF (CIF = 352 x 288).
  • The Samsung v205 can save Jpeg and GIF as wallpaper or backgrounds.
  • The Samsung v205 cannot forward GIF.
  • The Samsung v205 camera takes only Jpeg CIF format pictures.

Compatibility

  • Samsung v205 Samsung v205
    The Samsung v205 can send any type of message to the Samsung v205 and they will all be understood.
  • Samsung v205 Motorola T720i
    The Samsung v205 can send text ONLY to the Motorola T720i. If a message with a picture is sent, the text will pass through and the image will be replaced with an X.
  • Samsung v205 Sony Ericsson T300
    The Samsung v205 can send text ONLY to the Sony Ericsson T300. If a message with a picture is sent, the text will pass through and the image will be dropped.
  • Motorola T720i Samsung v205
    The Motorola T720i can send the Small image size (QQVGA) to a Samsung v205. To change the image size to Small on the Motorola T720i, go to Menu > Picture Msgs > Settings > Photo Size > Small.
    The Motorola T720i cannot send the Normal image size (QVGA) to a Samsung v205. To change the image size on the Motorola T720i, go to Menu > Picture Msgs > Settings > Photo Size.
  • Sony Ericsson T300 Samsung v205
    The Sony Ericsson T300 cannot send the XL (640 x 480) image size (VGA) to a Samsung v205. The phone will display the error Error: Message too large, and the device will reject the message. To change the image size on the Sony Ericsson T300, go to Menu > Fun & Games > CommuniCam > Options > Picture Size.

    NOTE:
    The camera attachment must be connected.

    The Sony Ericsson T300 cannot send the L (320 x 240) image size (QVGA) to a Samsung v205. If a message with a picture is sent, the text will pass through and the image will be replaced with an X. To change the image size on the Sony Ericsson T300, go to Menu > Fun & Games > CommuniCam > Options > Picture Size.

    NOTE:
    The camera attachment must be connected.

    The Sony Ericsson T300 can send the M (160 x 120) image size (QQVGA) to a Samsung v205. To change the image size on the Sony Ericsson T300, go to Menu > Fun & Games > CommuniCam > Options > Picture Size.

    NOTE:
    The camera attachment must be connected.

    The Sony Ericsson T300 can send the S (80 x 60) image size (QQVGA) to a Samsung v205. To change the image size on the Sony Ericsson T300, go to Menu > Fun & Games > CommuniCam > Options > Picture Size.
