Troubleshooting

  • When sending a picture message to another phone, the recipient MUST have a phone that is capable of receiving picture messages.
NOTE: If the recipient does not have a supported phone, the picture will be stripped and the recipient will receive the message as text only. The image will NOT come through at all, and it is possible that only a portion of the text will be transmitted.
  • When a picture message is sent to a non-supported phone, the sender will receive the following message:

    +1234567890
    can only receive text messages.
Your picture message was delivered as text only.
NOTE: This message will only appear when sending messages from phone to phone. E-mail-to-phone transmissions will not display any error messages if the recipient has a picture messages-capable phone and has sent a picture message from the phone prior to receiving this message.
  • The photo messages application is a Java application that communicates between the camera and the phone itself. Users will notice a delay when saving, sending, and taking pictures. This delay is to be expected.
  • When sending a picture, the message field will include an envelope icon. This indicates that the picture has been inserted.
  • To check the status of messages sent, go to the Outbox in the Message menu.
    • X - not sent
    • - sent
    • - SMS message
    • >> - sending in progress
  • The Motorola T722i can send JPG and GIF files.
  • The Motorola T722i cannot forward a picture message.
  • The Motorola T722i can reply to picture messages with text only.
  • The Motorola T722i cannot save a picture in a folder if the user receives the picture in a message.
  • The Motorola T722i cannot save a picture as wallpaper or as a screen saver if the user receives the picture in a message. You can use a picture taken by the camera and set it as a wallpaper and a screen saver.
