My Screen Went Blank! What Happened? (Sidekick® Black & White, Color)
When you receive your device, two settings are on by default: key guard and power-saving mode. If your device is idle for 5 minutes, key guard will begin. Pressing keys has no effect once key guard is activated. If you are still in key guard (idle) mode after 30 minutes, your screen will go blank. This means it has gone into power-saving mode.
To wake your device from power-saving mode and unlock the screen from key guard mode, press Menu + Back.
